Thanks Thomas.. In addition I had to make following as well...

target_link_libraries(plasma_applet_xbar kworkspace taskmanager ${KDE4_KDEUI_LIBS} ${PLASMA_LIBS} ${KDE4_PLASMA_LIBS}) - Jan 18 2009
Distro: openSUSE 11.1
KDE: 4.2 RC1

Error:
(Harmless) note:
You're about to compile for the unstable Plasma ABI.
Use KDE4.2 or above if you want this to be binary compatible for future releases

CMake Error at /usr/share/kde4/apps/cmake/modules/FindPlasma.cmake:13 (message):
FindPlasma.cmake is deprecated. Now with KDE 4.2 Plasma is part of kdelibs
and automatically found using find_package(KDE4) instead.

Replace the variables previously coming from FindPlasma.cmake as follows:

PLASMA_OPENGL_FOUND -> KDE4_PLASMA_OPENGL_FOUND

PLASMA_LIBS -> KDE4_PLASMA_LIBS

PLASMA_INCLUDE_DIR -> KDE4_INCLUDE_DIR or KDE4_INCLUDES, should be already
set anyway

PLASMA_FOUND -> nothing, it's always there if KDE4, version 4.2 or newer
has been found.

If you see this error message in a module within KDE/, update it from svn,
it has been fixed already.

Call Stack (most recent call first):

Sorry for the communication error. Actually what I meant was the slight mirror effect in the bottom of the progressbar. - Dec 18 2008
I accidently found following URL. It's giving a nice idea of having slight shadow to the progressbar.

Hi Thomas,

It's like progress bar is bit left behind comparing to other widgets (at least for me). Can I request to have a frame around the progress bar (same as menu bar and tab bar) please.
Further, I guess KDE better have progress bar color setting in it's configurations. May be I'm wrong. - Dec 15 2008
Thanks for the great theme Thomas.

This seems to be a bug in the KDE beta. Try to resize the panel/ change the plasma theme several time and see (This worked for me).
One other thing you can do is remove plasmarc and plasmaappletsrc files from the location the ~/.kde4/share/config/ and reboot. (But you will loose all your current plasma desktop settings and you may have to reconfigure. make sure you are doing this in the safe mode). - Jan 03 2009
I configured it in Bespin settings. If you've imported the color scheme and the bespin settings (and apply), you will also get the same menu. - Dec 27 2008

I switched to gnome from kde sometime back.But with the kde 4.1 I switched back and at the moment dared to use 4.2 beta as well ;-)
I'm pretty sure 4.3 going to be matured enough for everyone. - Dec 15 2008

Thanks for your comment... ( Huh too many.. :-) ). Give me couple of weeks for the initial release. Please don't expect everything in the first release, but with the time they will be catched up. - Nov 26 2006
Hope you will like the look and feel of the evolution. Please give me another 2 weeks for the first release. I feel now I've come to some speed in theme engine development. Still lots of things to learn. Unfortunately I've to spend weekend for these stuff. - Nov 26 2006
Thanks Cimi...Basically I'm doing this as a research thing and mostly learning purpose. I'm already having some ideas about a second engine. Still some basic mockups... - Nov 08 2006

Thanks Cimi, this notebook thing is the one I was waiting for a long time to see in a theme engine. I need a small help on Cairo ( Started learning some programming stuff now :-) ).

How to draw "Scan Lines" to the application background like in my screenshot "Another OSX looking Desktop". At the moment I'm using a pixmap to the background. A small piece of coding much appreciated. My email:

Thanks for your comments. Still I'm experimenting with this. I've already tried some of the aqua like themes available but still they are not upto my taste. Hope to try out with the recent once. Main problem I see with the current aqua'ish pixmap themes is all of them are using png's for widgets and rendering is not smooth as they should be. If svg is used for this purpose, we should be able to get better widget rendering (I guess). Of cource we need extream graphics skills as well (that I don't have :-( ).
One other thing I'm waiting is someone to hack nautilus toolbar to give it a finder like look :-)

Bottom dock: actually it's a temporary one and I'm waiting for kiba dock to get task bar capability. - Oct 16 2006

This license issue is something confused to me. You all are using Pixmap, Murrine, Clearlooks etc gtk engines for your themes and they are licensed as GPL. On top of that, you are using the pixmaps which are Non-GPL ... So what should be the license for the final theme. (GPL or Non-GPL) ?
As you are using GPL engine the theme is GPLed ir wise versa ?

Further, These themes are using Pixmap, Murrine, Clearlooks etc gtk engines and you've never given credits to the creators of those theme engines because they are GPL ;-)

Hi.. Something I had my mind for a long time is to make a set of semitransparent SVG's for all the widgets and experimenting the pixmap theme engine with different color schemas. I'm not good at graphics and Inkscape so couldn't do so far. You've done a good start using SVG's, and I can clearly see the difference of rendering the widgets. Rendering is excellent here comparing to png themes.

Please keep up your good work. - Oct 08 2006
