-Up and down arrow work if you single click, but if you hold them, the are permanently sticky and cannot be overridden (if you push and hold down, your display will be set to 0, pushing up or manually entering a value will fight it, but it will continue to be pushed toward zero). No way to stop this other than to close the app and manually reset the values. - Jul 09 2018

+ Amazing! Just set the monitor and use the scroll wheel to adjust brightness of the monitor in question. Works better than the brightness-controller-simple package!!! - Jul 09 2018

I was able to complie this on a i686 just fine, but many debian amd64 packages just weren't available. The best alternitive was to use ubuntu binaires. There were several dependenceis so I added the folliowing line to my etc/apt/sources.lst

deb http://kambing.vlsm.org/ubuntu breezy universe main

then did
# apt-get install ksplash-engine-moodin kdelibs4c2
# apt-get -f install

it worked fine - Dec 02 2005

I needed to grab:
kde-kdm-themes to install the login theme.

the moddin engine had to be compiled from source. - Nov 05 2005
