I couldn't agree more about KEEPING the color. There are mountains of icon themes out there already fro peopl who want subtl subdued colors, but sometimes, you want some stinkin color, and for those times, this is a realy nice set.

Once the set is finished, I'll use it for sure. I might even isntall it now. - Dec 01 2004
KDE Menu Shortcut Improvement

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by maarizwan 13 comments

Not to sound rude, but I'm having a hard time seeing what this does, that the default KDE menu doesn't do. Are people realy so lazy that they'd install a patch to avoid organizing their menu themselves? And if people are that lazy, how are they going to get the patch installed?

You guys all know that you can customize your menu by right clicking on the K in the taskbar and selecting "Menu Editor" right?

What else is there to this? - Nov 25 2004

REally? The foot ball helmet is the whole point. Life is hard, get a helmet. Meanwhile, all the pins have been knowcked down, but the one with the helmet is still standing. - Nov 25 2004

Hate the mesage, but i agree artistiacly. It looks like this was made by simply superimposing a couple of layers in GIMP or some similar program. I think it would be much more effective if you flipped the skull (or Bush, doesn't matter) about the vertical axis so they are looking the same way, and then line them up. Of course, then you might have to reduce transparency of the faces just a tad to bring them up through that murky red foreground, but i think overall, it would improve it's effectiveness greatly. - Nov 16 2004

Regardless of whether or not you agree with Michael Moore, there is absolutely nothing of substantive value in either of those documentaries. They are works of fantasy and pure propoganda. While I agree with some of the things he believes, the man is an idiot.

Telling a person to go see Farenhiet 911 is about as usefull as telling them to whatch the anti moore propaganda film FarenHYPE 911. Both are worthless pieces of sophomoric drivel. - Nov 15 2004

First I must say that no person with a good working knowledge of history could believe in the idea this picture promotes, and i voted for Bush. Actualy it would be more accurite to say I voted 'against' Kerry, but that's a whole other topic.

All that being said, I think it's insane and wrong to censor this. The key to a free society is that we must defend that which we find most heinous.

To believe in free speach is to defend the right of another, to preach at the top of their lungs, that which you would spend your whole life preaching against at the top of your lungs. Only then is there freedom. (paraphased, Michael Douglas in "The Amercian President.") - Nov 15 2004

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by KyroxX 36 comments

For anyone having the problem with getting two eterms on a reboot, there is a VERY simple solution.

The cause of the problem is that you have kde set to restore your last session on boot. So, it opens one because of the script and one because one was open when you shut down. If you left them both and rebooted, you'd have 3 of them.

There's two solutions:
1. Set kde to NOT restore your last session and to start clean each time.

2. If you want session restore to stay enabled, all you have to do is remove the script from wherever you installed it. Then, open the script in a text editor and copy/paste the command that actualy opens eterm into a konsole and execute it. Now reboot. From then on, as long as you don't close the terminal, it will restart it for you each time you boot, because kde will remember you had it running that way when you shut down. It will even remember that you don't want borders and where it was on the screen.

I use #2 and I'm very happy. clever command. didn't know you could call that directly from the command line. kudo's - Nov 13 2004
