I just wanted to tell you that I forked this theme: http://box-look.org/content/show.php?content=141700
I hope you like the changes I made and maybe you want to re-use some of them (like the new restore button, I found it to stupid that there was no sure "one look check" for fullscreen or not)?
Oh, and of course thank you for that nice theme. :)
P.S. Sorry for my bad english. - May 15 2011

But maybe some time in the future I will learn how to make good looking SVGs and then I could fork it, if you don't update it till then. :) - Apr 08 2011

after a long time I'm looking again at this side and can see... that nothing has changed... :(
So lonerocker, are you still working on it (and if not: are you working on anything other?) or is it time for a fork? ;) - Apr 08 2011

So you will (again) try to compile it from source (you need build tools and for example the gtk-2 header files) or wait till the patch goes upstream.
But the icons seem to work: http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/470/weathernewicons.png - May 29 2010

- locate the xfce4-weather-plugin (under gentoo it's found at /usr/libexec/xfce4/panel-plugins/)
- !!! BACKUP IT !!!
- replace it with this one: http://rapidshare.com/files/392717932/xfce4-weather-plugin-patched.tar.bz2
I don't know if this will work but we can try ;) - May 28 2010

xfce4-weather-0.svg to xfce4-weather-47.svg and xfce4-weather-99.svg
if you put them in a new (sub)folder you have to set this in the index.theme file, for example:
you make a new folder inside scalable called xfce4-weather, so you have to append it to the directory line, it should look like this:
Directories=scalable/actions,scalable/apps,scalable/categories,scalable/devices,scalable/emblems,scalable/emotes,scalable/filesystems,scalable/mimetypes,scalable/places,scalable/status,scalable/xfce4-weather
and at the end of the file you have to append something like this:
[scalable/xfce4-weather]
Size=48
Context=Status
Type=Scalable
the patch is for the sources of the plugin, I gave you commands to install a patched version.
the following line "executes" the patch:
patch -p1 < weather-themable-rev5.patch
by executing this inside the right folder the sources of the plugin will be rewritten.
The lines bevor that one will download and prepare everything needet and the lines
./configure
make
sudo make install
will compile and install it :)
here is a preview:

With the patch the icons have to be renamed:
01.png = xfce4-weather-01.*
02.png = xfce4-weather-02.*
...
and with the patch the icons have to be in the theme. you can make a own folder for it or use an existing (like status). Of course not only png is supported ;)
if you want to test the patch you have to build the plugin from source:
wget http://archive.xfce.org/src/panel-plugins/xfce4-weather-plugin/0.7/xfce4-weather-plugin-0.7.3.tar.bz2
tar xjf xfce4-weather-plugin-0.7.3.tar.bz2
cd xfce4-weather-plugin-0.7.3
wget http://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi\?id\=2996
mv attachment.cgi\?id=2996 weather-themable-rev5.patch
patch -p1 < weather-themable-rev5.patch
./configure
make
sudo make install
or, for gentoo users (all as root) :
mkdir -p /etc/portage/patches/xfce-extra/xfce4-weather-plugin
wget http://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi\?id\=2996
mv attachment.cgi\?id=2996 /etc/portage/patches/xfce-extra/xfce4-weather-plugin/weather-themable-rev5.patch
emerge --oneshot xfce-extra/xfce4-weather-plugin

Is it possible to make the missing weather icons? It looks nice with the icons providet but it's not the best ^^
Keep in mind that this icon set would be the first one with custom weather icons if the patch goes upstream :) - May 24 2010

I'm using gentoo linux. Is there any way to find out the icons used by an application?
P.S. I have a few commandos which will let the xfce4-mixer-plugin use the right icons: Go to scalable/status and execute this:
ln -s notification-audio-volume-off.svg xfce4-mixer-volume-ultra-low.svg
ln -s audio-volume-low.svg xfce4-mixer-volume-low.svg
ln -s audio-volume-high.svg xfce4-mixer-volume-high.svg
ln -s audio-volume-high.svg xfce4-mixer-volume-very-high.svg
ln -s audio-volume-medium.svg xfce4-mixer-volume-medium.svg
ln -s audio-volume-medium.svg xfce4-mixer-volume-low-medium.svg
