Various KDE 1.-4. Styles by kness 7 comments

This is pretty good. It's definately something different, and appealing. Almost gothic. Thank you also for going through the trouble of creating a whole theme set as well. :) - Apr 19 2004

Do please keep working on this set! It looks like something I'd like to use. I only looked at the previews though and didn't download since you mentioned it's a work in progress. I'll wait for the finished version. :)

I do have an idea though. Maybe you could make them semi-transparent (or a separate semi-transparent version) so that it would kinda "blend" in with backgrounds. - Apr 19 2004

[Gentoo - Ebuild] KDE Color Schemes

KDE 3 Color Schemes by chtof 42 comments

Wow, that's great that you're packaging them in one because that way folks don't have to go downloading a ton of them. Great job. :)

I hope you did get my updates to my packages (science, checkerflag, pastel, whites, solids) as I had freshened up the colors recently.

Keep up the great work. :) - Apr 10 2004
Summer Again

Wallpaper Other by RockHopper 10 comments

Definitely a great wallpaper for summer. Spring too!

I think it would be neat that when you first start KDE, during it's configuration setup, it would ask you your favorite color and make the scheme in your color. This should be the default wallpaper though (of course, in the color of one's choice. I'd pick orange here. ;) - Apr 05 2004
There's a penguin for everyone.

This is a neat wallpaper! I think it would also be neat to have the penguins separate to print out case badges (well, stickers) to stick on the computer. - Mar 29 2004
crystal xcursors

Cursors by mart 125 comments

Great cursors! I love the Crystal type look.

I made a slight change though to the script. For some reason, my Built-in Trident Cyberblade video would show the cursors rather washed out when colorizing with the script. So I changed this line:

convert -fill $1 -colorize 40 $f $f

To this:

convert -fill $1 -colorize 40 -contrast -modulate 100,180,100 +contrast $f $f

(The above is to be all on one line.) Sharpened up the color nicely. :) - Mar 27 2004

I like these muted colors. The hues in the background are relaxing. Nice change from the blues. - Mar 27 2004

The font in this is BaccusExpanded. I don't happen to have a link to download it handy, and forgot where exactly I got it from. It's a TrueType font. - Feb 20 2004

Console Scheme Package

KDE 3 Color Schemes by Tika 8 comments

I think there's an "how to install" link just below the description on the right side. As for me, they worked fine in the ~/.kde/kdisplay/color-schemes folder. If you don't have that folder (probably won't get created unless you actually save your own scheme), you can make the kdisplay folder, move to it and mkae the color-schemes folder, then copy the *.kcsrc files to that folder. Then go into Control panel (if it's open, close it and reopen it so it sees the new schemes) and you should see them in the list.

Normally, for global use (meaning all users can use them) the *.kcsrc files would be placed in /usr/share/apps/kdisplay/color-schemes.

For anyone else reading this that might be newer to this, you have to also untar the file first (tar -xvzf [filename].tgz) where [filename] ist he name of the file, etc. Or just right click on it in KDE 3.2, Actions, Extract to Here and make sure you're in the right directory (for global you need to be root to right to the directory).

Hope this helps... - Feb 17 2004
Console Scheme Package

KDE 3 Color Schemes by Tika 8 comments

Uhm... I created these on KDE 3.2 (which is what I also use). I'm not great at diagnosing things so I don't know what could be not working right. Maybe if you could give some more detail someone could recognise the problem and offer a fix.

Does anyone else with KDE 3.2 having any problems with this theme? Please post here so if there is a problem, hopefully we can fix it. - Feb 17 2004

I would like to see you complete the set. These are really great! Simple, and colorful. I think they'd go great with a number of wallpapers I've found on this site. - Feb 17 2004
