Thanks for implementing my suggestions so quickly!!! :)

One small note.. I noticed a little graphic glitch on the address bar of konqueror when I resize its width.. its farily subtle and I can supply a screenshot if needed (not sure if anyone else is experiencing it?) - Nov 29 2005
First off.. I really enjoy you 'porting' the theme.. I actually like it better than plastic (the subtle gradients are nice). One thing I'd like to see revised though is the text inputs, more specifically the drop down type (such as the address bar in konqueror, etc). They seem to outlined compared to the rest of the theme, and IMO stand out too much.

It would also be nice if you could add a line under the menu options, but not under the toolbars.. but this is much just a personal request.

Oh, and lastly, if the lines in statusbar could be set as an option to be lighter (similar to plastik) or even removed (similar to lipstik), that would be nice as well. - Nov 27 2005

I haven't tried this release version, but previous versions have never played well with xinerama setups when top aligned (it spans all screens). If possible, could you look into forcing kuake to only reside on one screen. - Sep 14 2005

There are also alot of screens under print:/ (print:/jobs and print:/printers/NAME_OF_PRINTER) to name a few. There might be some more hidden elsewhere, if I run across them, I will post them here as well.

I hope your designs make it into 3.4, as they are very clean and a nice change. - Jan 22 2005

I could see this as a good idea (as a default, not something which each user has to do to setup, and its for the new kde users more, which wouldn't know how to change this).

I think this should especially be done to directories which don't hold "true" files, such as /dev, /proc, etc. - Apr 29 2004

Is that top bar a mix of superkaramba and a kicker panel? If so, where did you get those applets, or can you supply that karamba theme (or link to).

Lastly, is that your wallpaper with the line graph at the bottom, or is that a karamba theme too? - Nov 01 2003

Could you tell me the config file settings so I can manually set this. Right now I am locked into just having the outline, which isn't bad, but I'd like just a drop shadow. - Jul 14 2003
It appears that most of it has made it into CVS, as of a few days ago. One thing though is I only have a checkbox to turn it on and off, not the one in the screenshots for different types, etc. I'm presuming its still being merged in. - Jul 05 2003

When will this be merged into KDE CVS? Are you just waiting to complete more work on it?

Also, I tried it on a daily snapshot (06-22-03), but kdebase failed to compile after the patch (had already compiled it without the patch, and went through fine, kdelibs did compile fine as well). I don't have the error right off hand, but it was something to do with shadowconfig missing I think. - Jun 23 2003
I noticed that myself about the background and kicker. Even in 3.1, it seems to be hacked in a way to make the menus popup, as that region still isn't "Just like the desktop". For instance, I set my wallpaper usually just by dragging the image from konq to my desktop, then using the popup "set as wallpaper" option. This is not possible in 3.1, although I think it has been resolved in CVS (I just formatted and am actually compiling KDE CVS now, or I would confirm). - Jun 17 2003

epoch commented earlier that the original kpager had no aspect ratio checking, the reason that it has the problem, but said he would be looking in to it - Jun 21 2003
One feature I'd like to see implemented is scrolling the wheeling changes desktops, just like the regular pager does. Also, I know its been mentioned, but to somehow find a workaround for the aspect ratio problem. Might even want to change the pager preferences some (really something to work on down the road) so to disable the veritcal/horizontal option depending on how the kicker is aligned. You can't use windows that are verically aligned on a horizontal kicker, unless you are using an amazing large custom size kicker.

As, a bug I noticed, which is more pager related, is that the preview doesn't always update properly, mainly with tabs in konqueror (kinda quirky). Just thought I'd mention it if you get time to look into it (is the original pager even maintained anymore?) - Jun 20 2003
nice work, i'm in the process of compiling a daily snapshot now (been going for about 12 hours now). Going to check this out once its done.

This is one feature I always liked about enlightenment (being able to see a true preview of the desktop, not just outlines). The Pager is nice, but having it as an applet is just perfect. I also hope to see it in 3.2 - Jun 18 2003

It will start and control xmms, but won't autohide for me or display the playlist. I have xmmsctrl installed, as well as superkaramba G version.

I loaded karamba from konsole and noticed these errors repeating. Not a python coder so didn't know how to correct them.

*I did just notice that it will load the playlist (if small), but then goes away with the error in konsole, so I'm guessing its a problem with refreshing the list.

BTW, I've very much looking forward to using this. - Apr 25 2003

I have an XP 1800+ and Geforce 4 4600, and doesn't run slow at all (does spike my cpu to 100% if i move around alot, but doesn't even make my music jump). I am running the newest Nvidia drivers (the latest from the new script they have). I also turned on RenderAccel in my /etc/X11/XF86Config, although haven't tested it without it to see if it helps.

Great work btw, I've been waiting for this bar. Now just need a way to add applets it it ;) - Apr 21 2003

My last feature request for a while.. ;)

I thought since you'ved decided to not make a theme configure app, maybe it would be possible to have an option to turn on which shows the position of an unlocked karamba theme as you move it (similair to konsole). That way you could align them just like you want, without alot of trial/error.

Also, maybe a way to only have a theme display on a certain desktop, instead of all. - Apr 17 2003
The already great project just keeps getting better. This program is so flexible, its amazing. Finally a program to allow me to get rid of gkrellm.

Since your so great about responding to requests, figured i'd throw a few out. It would be nice to have a monitor for hd activity, as well as a monitor for port specific network activity (saw just watch your http port 80, etc). - Apr 15 2003
I had brought up the idea about not having maximized apps covering up karamba, but have it configurable in the theme, as it would only really benefit themes that are top bars, etc. I checked out a nice little app called kuake today, and they had a comment on how to maybe do this.

They said to use NETstrut. This makes no sense to me, as I not much of a programmer (at least yet), but might help someone else implement this, if they so chose so.

Once again, thank you for a wonderful app. - Apr 11 2003
my bad.. thanks ;) - Apr 10 2003
Another idea I'd like is a way to apply the X,Y coordinates to the center point, instead of the top left corner, mainly for the Text field. That way, for things like the XMMS playing title which change in the number of characters. - Apr 10 2003
With .16, you fixed the 2 things that bugged me (the background issue, and now being able to load more than 1 theme at once).

One request I would like to make is to have a way in the .theme file to keep other apps from covering it, so I could see my top karamba bar without a maximized app covering it.

Nothing major, and understand othe things are more a priority, but thought i'd put out a request. - Apr 10 2003
When I change desktops, Karamba doesn't update its background. I thought i read this was fixed in .14 or so, but so far I haven't noticed a change (i'm running .15 now) - Apr 07 2003
A couple features I would like to see, maybe configurable in the .theme (I haven't examined them very thoroughly, so they may already be there) is a way for some themes (like the one with a bar at the top) to not be overtook my a maximized windows.

Also, maybe a way for the calender script to be tied into KOrganizer, although I can see this to be difficult (I also know as of right now, it is just formating the cal command). - Apr 04 2003
For me to be able to compile on Suse 8.1, I had to copy the contents of /usr/X11R6/include/xmms/ to the kamaba src dir. I tried to pass a configure switch, but didn't work. I'm just 'savvy' enough to rig something, so it was probably some stupidity on my part on how to fix this. - Apr 02 2003

The RPMs work great, and in fact I always wait on them to upgrade my Karamba. One thing I've noticed though is that they require, which is part the NVidia RPM I think. I myself have an NVidia, but since the new vesion (4139), when I run the script, it usually recompiles the source for the module. This causes RPMs to not know the file is there.

Anyways, what I'm saying is if the is not a prereq for karmaba, would you remove it from prompting me. Until then, --nodeps will suffice for me :). - Apr 17 2003

One thing you may want to add in your descripion is that xmms-shell is required to hide/show xmms. Also, don't know if its possible, but using "window playlist toggle" seems to make the equalizer toggle with it, but if it is possible to use I would use "window playlist show", "window playlist hide". I can see the problem being trying to see the status of it, so might either have to have 2 clickareas for it, or just leave it ;) - Apr 11 2003
