I especially appreciate this since the official Mozilla site doesn't seem to have any themes for 1.0 final yet... and somebody keeps uploading 1,000 different versions of that cat paws thing anyway. - Nov 15 2004

I figured it out-- KControl doesn't preserve symlinks when it unpacks the cursor archive. So, all the symlinked cursors show up as zero-length files.

I will file a bug report with KDE. - Aug 11 2004
I installed using KControl and only some of the cursors work. The arrow, text cursor, and drag all look OK, but the busy cursor and the resize cursors are all boring X11 defaults. Am I missing something here? - Aug 10 2004

OK, I tweaked to work against the lastest Howl, but now I'm getting a compile error in yadl.cpp-- CURLINFO_RESPONSE_CODE isn't defined in my curl.h!

What distro & version of cURL are you using? I'm SuSE 9.0 and cURL 7.10.5.

This'll be so awesome if I get it to work :) - Apr 25 2004

These are sweet! I only have two small criticisms:

1) The toolbar "close" button looks too much like a plus sign for me, it's confusing.

2) The Be, Inc logo on the KDE menu is cute, but it's not really BeOS. And, I'm sure that logo is still trademarked by somebody (Palm.)

Thanks for the great icons. - Jan 30 2004

Slackware packages don't handle dependancies by design, this was a choice that Patrick Volkerding made. Also, KPackage already provides a good GUI interface to installing Slack packages.

I just compiled on Slackware 9.0... and while there were no compiler problems, when I run the app... nothing happens. Almost nothing: Kicker scoots up to make room for KSmoothDock, but then the dock never appears.

What happened to the colored scrollbar thumbs?! I liked those. Also, the new menu behavior is a little weird: on mouse hover, the menu title text changes to white, but the background doesn't change (this is hard to read with my color theme.) Any chance of making some of these new enhancements optional?

The new windec is great, BTW-- Alloy is becoming one of my favorite styles. - Jul 01 2003

COME ON... what's with that weird upper-left hand arrow instead of a menubar? And ALL THOSE FREAKING WINDOWS... workspace clutter is the main reason I DON'T use a Mac.

The GIMP people need a serious lesson in usability... but then again the GNOME attitude in general is "we're geeks, if you're not, well then tough." 'Nuff said. - Jun 16 2003

Yeah; the problem is that the Slicker group are really lazy about releasing tarballs, and the last time I checked out their anonymous CVS, the autoconf/automake setup was incomplete and broken. :(

So, I say if somebody has the time and energy to package their code; good for him. Maybe it would be better to contribute the alpha tarball back to the Slicker project though? - Mar 28 2003
