Finally something new and beautiful. I think this should be the default for KDE 4.2.

Oxygen makes great icons, but honestly, when you compare the oxygen window decorations and style to apple/vista it just doesn't match up. This is gorgeous, i love the animation, and i love how the progress bars start out in the middle. this is great! - Oct 04 2008

no, because wouldn't ./configure fail if that was the case? the sources configure fine, make does fine, and make install is also fine. the RPM packages i tried install fine, also. it's just not showing up in the KDE control center module. - Dec 09 2005
I've had this problem with all versions of lipstik. 1.6, 1.99, and 2.0.

I've tried compiling and installing lipstik, with no make errors or anything. Everything seems to compile fine. I've also tried installing SuSE 10 RPM packages I've found. Not matter what I do, Lipstik will not show up as a choice in the KDE control center module. I've got all the correct packages installed. If anyone could help me identify the problem that would be great. Thanks. - Dec 09 2005

I think you should take a valium man. You're sitting here saying there is a problem with what this person has created. There isn't really a problem, some people like having little cute superkarmaba circles all over their desktop that are brilliantly designed.

"Another reason why I think copying the windows way
of messing with the user/computer is a bad idea:
important system notifications are meant for the root user,
while the regular linux/kde user is (should be) non root."

So you're implying that everyone is knowledgeable to have a root user/system admin? - Nov 06 2005
I agree with you too. XP's way of handling pop-up messages is not only annoying, but they have abused it so much that people disregard them because of it. That's exactly what we DON'T want to do.

I also agree that the system messages should be only for root users. *BUT*, instead of saying "this is how it SHOULD be", I'm merely saying this would work better than the current implementation. SuSE watcher loads for users, not only root. - Jul 25 2005

feature request:

i think, maybe a 1.1 release? it would be a cool add-on to this to be able to select which logout animation theme you would like. there are all those people creating those cool logout animations, this would be an added goodie. :) and of course, being able to just install those themes with a zip archieve would be cool, too.

this is just a thought, but i thought this might be better organized as a tab under the current 'login manger' module in control center, instead of being it's own module. maybe integrate this into the 'appearance' tab, since this looks far superior to customizing the login manager. maybe add a 'theme' section to the 'appearance' tab under the login manager module would be cool!

i think of 'kdm theme manager' as sounding too simliar to the theme manager under the 'appearance and themes' category.

again, that's just my thought on it. great work. - Apr 09 2005

I'm in favor of picture #3. I really hate Microsoft's "My" and I really hate apple's "i".

One thing I don't like about #3, is that i think the Location bar should say: /home/username/.

Not: file://Mount/hda5/

And I think Movies, Music, etc. should be under: /home/username/Documents/

Here's a screenshot:

So, when you double-click on home, it looks like this:

Can someone help me with this error I'm getting? I run ./configure and it says it configured fine. Then when i 'make install' i get an error. this happens no matter what sources i download and try to install. i'm getting really annoyed. Basically running Fedora Core 1 with KDE 3.1.4-4. I have all the latest Fedora updates and development packages installed.

Here's the error that I get:
