You cannot install the old themes for GDM 2.20.x to GDM 2.30.x (as far as I know). - Oct 14 2010

hi,

i am in front of a Debian Etch machine now, hope it's the same in UBUNTU:

Download the package ,-)

On your upper panel, in the left corner, click on the "Desktop" button, then "Administration", then "Login Window".

A new window will appear with preview thumbnails of different GDM themes. Just drag and drop the downloaded package to this window and the theme will be installed and will appear in the list (with a preview thumbnail). Then just make sure you select it, so it will be your new GDM.

Log out and it should be changed.

if you want to make a screenshot of your GDM, use the "New Login in a Nested Window" option, then take a screenshot, open it in The GIMP and crop it.. - Sep 14 2007

Thank you that you like the GDM and the picture itself. I have no idea what "ubuntu girl" is. I use Slackware and all this Ubuntu stuff seems quite distant. But I am going to suggest something to the gnome-look people: they should make an entirely new web-site called "ubuntu-look" and put all the Ubuntu themes there.
