Hmm... I don't quite remember. I (heavily) modified something I found on the net? Although I'm pretty sure it's 99% different from the original, it's true origins are unclear in my memory so I don't want to post it here...

Email me and I'll float you a copy.

You're welcome! Ana is a great and beautiful theme. Unfortunately it suffers from the underlying (svg) engine's sub-optimal performance... too bad because the art is great. I'm sure things will be improving in that area though.

Brise-Glace uses the smooth-engine which is in active development and will provide some great features in future releases.

Anyway though Ana (and all w-Tarchalski themes) are inspirational, Brise-Glace isn't intended to be a replacement. The Ana metacity theme just fits Brise-Glace perfectly, so I use it.

Glad you like it! - Nov 30 2004

If you enjoy Brise-Glace, please post a link to a screenshot in "Comments". I don't think the two current shots do a good job of illustrating the theme.

Thanks,

No, I had to pull in a little pixmap engine action. But I can tell you from my discussions with the Smooth engine author, some big things are on the way for this engine. At some point I fully expect such touches will be possible using only smooth. - Oct 19 2004

Yes, the arrows are a gtk/smooth bug that's known. I've been talking to the author of the smooth engine and I should be able to fix them in the theme soon.

I made the button highlighting very subtle on purpose. One thing I'm happy with in this theme is that I've been able to make focus issues less "muddy" in gnome. Buttons have so many states that it's sometimes confusing. Here focus is indicated by the faint blue outline. Prelight isn't indicated in any way, my thinking being the mouse curser indicates which button will be pressed and an active state button will be indicated by 1) faint focus line 2) slightly "brighter" button. - Oct 16 2004
