Open terminal and type the following

gedit .conkyscript.sh

In this document paste this and save it
#!/bin/bash
sleep 15 && conky ;

Now write the following line in terminal:

sudo chmod +x .conkyscript.sh

After that go to System - Preferences - Startup Applications. Click on Add and fill in the following things:

Name: Conky
Command: /home/<yourusername>/.conkyscript.sh
Description: <something>

This script will lauch conky 15 seconds after you've logged in - Jun 30 2009
Open terminal and type the following

gedit .conkyscript.sh
