No, using checkinstall works only for source packages that use the GNU autotools for compiling, and it's used mainly for personal packaging, not for distributing. This script is used to make a .DEB the proper way when the package build structure has been set up. - Apr 30 2008

I like the set of scripts you put up. They're small scripts, but they make the tasks they're written for very easy. I'm rating them good, even though my knowledge of Italian isn't "perfetto" :) - Oct 10 2007

Try running the script via the command line: $HOME/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts/shred_file somefile_to_shred

That should help shed some light as to what's going on. You should have zenity though if you say you got a dialog box after starting the script. Do "whereis zenity" to find out for sure. - Sep 21 2007

about sending your GDM theme to the Ubuntu artwork team? I have your theme on my Feisty desktop, and I would love to see it in the next release of Ubuntu. Here's the link if you're interested:

Thanks! The flat window decoration fits in well, though the window buttons should look like the ones found in the GTK+/Metacity version of your theme. In the meantime, I'll use Heliodor to use the GTK+ window border with Beryl. - Apr 07 2007
While I'm not a fan of Vista-ish emerald themes, I really like the tab-like look of the taskbar and the color scheme used. I recommend adapting the Kubuntu-Light emerald theme to match your GTK style:

P.S. - cybermage, any progress on the tropical version of your vines theme? For the buttons I was thinking close=coconut, minimize=banana, and maximize/restore=a bunch of bananas. - Jan 30 2007
