I don't see any hijack attempt here, they say that they implement the freedesktop.org specification (mentioned 2 times in the paragraph) isn't this enough? - Dec 17 2005
First, their project is an icon set, not conquering the world
Second their naming scheme IS THE STANDARD, the same standard that the oxygen project follows, and that is produced by freedesktop.org
http://tango-project.org/Standard_Icon_Naming_Specification
http://standards.freedesktop.org/icon-naming-spec/icon-naming-spec-0.4.html
I think that people should read a little more, and stop attacking the gnome or the kde project, this is simply silly! - Dec 15 2005

You didn't stole anything, because Apple already took this thing from windows
And about multiple desktop, well, I don't think that a sane user uses more than 4 or 6 desktops, and not all the time, so hiding empty desktops and making a good use of zooming should do the trick :-D
It's a great idea - Dec 02 2005

and for kde integration, i partly agree with you, now this program works without problems on other DE, and probably other platforms too, maybe there could be a fork, with a common codebase, but that operates in different envrionments, the standalone Qt version, and maybe a kpdf generator, as suggested above.

Well apart from system:/ and network:/ (that you rearranged very well in Desktop menu) the other kmenu actions seems placed quite well where they are now.
For the trash I partly agree with you, it should be configurable, and have two submenus, open and empty, so you can empty it directly from the desktop menu, but this means modify the code of the kio - Apr 05 2005

1. implementing recent as a kicker applet or button, which pressed opens a simple window that shows icons (with metadata tooltips) and a search bar or a filter.
2. implementing recent as a KIO slave recent:/ and use the konqueror's search and filter capabilities.
Making the Kmenu able to embed kio's (it's difficult to write, I mean being able to browse a kioslave, for example smb:/, within the menu) it's possible to create a recent entry like yours, what do you think? - Aug 06 2004
