In my opinion this is the coolest looking theme you've ever made. Are you going to find some time to update it so it works in the latest gtk3? - Oct 17 2013
Ah ok, I thought that might be the case. I'm guessing that you're planning a 3.6 update for this at some point? - Dec 29 2012 - Dec 29 2012
I just tried the theme out in gnome and I'm seeing the same issue. - Dec 29 2012
I've noticed that the background image doesn't show up in some parts of the window, but it does in yours. This may be an xfce specific issue, but it's strange that gtk3 would render differently between gnome and xfce... - Dec 29 2012
First off, great theme, really original.

Secondly, I was wondering if you could explain why I'm having display issues with it. The borders around the rounded buttons, tabs, and dropdown are showing up as white instead of grey (it looks like crap). I'm using the theme in xfce, but that shouldn't make a difference. This is a screenshot of ubuntu tweak (the same page as you have in your screenshots). Notice the difference, any idea how this can be fixed? - Dec 29 2012

For those of you who want the wallpaper shown in the screenshot, I found it here (available in any resolution) - Dec 30 2012
I finally got the window decorations displaying properly. First I went to System Settings -> Workspace Appearance, I clicked the Get New Docorations button and searched for "uniq". I installed the one called "uniq v1 aurorae". I then noticed after installing and applying it that it was glitchy when a window did not have focus (most of the bar and border around the window would vanish). I eventually went to Systems Settings -> Desktop Effects -> Advanced Tab and changed Qt graphics system from Raster to Native. That fixed the problem and everything seems to be working fine now. Hopefully the tips in this comment and my previous ones will help people who are trying to get this theme working. - Dec 30 2012
I finally figured out that I needed to install the qtcurve package, then go to System Settings -> Application Appearance, select it in the Widget Style dropdown, click Configure next to it, then select uniq from the presets dropdown. Now the last thing I need to sort out is the weirdness in the window decorations. Hopefully there's a setting somewhere that can fix that. - Dec 30 2012
I can't get the uniq widget style to show up under System Settings -> Application Appearance. This theme is completely broken, I would advise no one else to waste their time on this until such a time as it's fixed. Too bad because I was really looking forward to using this, it has a great look based on what I see in the screenshot. - Dec 30 2012
I figured out that I needed to edit .bash/ in the uniq directory and change line 1356 from $HOME/.kde4 to $HOME/.kde as my kde directory is under .kde, not .kde4. It appears as though the script is also supposed to allow the path to the kde home directory to be specified as a commandline option (i.e, ./ ~/.kde) but that didn't work for me. After I changed it in the installation seemed to at least partially complete. I can now see the desktop and window themes present. The window decoration theme is broken though, the buttons and text show up fine but the background is shrunken down and only takes up a fraction of the space that it should. - Dec 30 2012
I too can confirm that the install script is not working. I've gone over the code and it seems to try to copy some stuff to directories that don't even exist. I've been trying to get the theme installed by hand for the last half hour but no luck so far. Normally a theme would just have a directory that can be copied to ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme, but this one doesn't appear to work properly if I just copy it there. - Dec 29 2012

It's a damn shame since this is an awesome theme. Who knows if this will ever be fixed, but I hope so. - May 01 2011

Very nice work. I like the fact that it kind of mixes up the new freebsd logo with the classic logo. It's amazing how glassy you got it to look. Keep up the good work! - Aug 24 2006

I originally discovered these icons in a superkaramba script (which I still use) and when I downloaded them and started using them I found that they fit the theme that I was going for perfectly. These are the most amazing icons. I love how there are even custom icons for certain applications such as firebird (now firefox), and the gimp. It's a really neat theme. I'd like to thank mattahan for designing such a kickass icon theme and norbalin for devoting a very large amount of time to converting these for use with KDE. I'd love to see more icons added to the theme eventually, but as it stands this is already one of the best if not the best kde icon theme on the net. Keep up the good work guys. - Nov 22 2005

Aren't there already enough windecos that immitate winxp's out there? I really don't want my windeco to look like I'm using windows when I'm using linux. In my opinion the windows xp theme is very ugly and imitating it in a windeco is slightly unoriginal. (to all those planning windows immitation themes or windecos: can you please use your creative genius to come up with something original?) and for the other 3 themes, I like them alot, very slick and very nice work. - Jul 06 2005

Keep up the awesome work! I installed it in gentoo and tested it with activeheart. It displays the theme almost 100% perfectly and I've actually noticed a significant speed increase in all of my gtk applications after switching from the gtk theme that I was using before. Amazing, I look forward to future releases. (I am writing this with firefox which is successfully using the ActiveHeart theme. Just some very small menu glitches at times, but overall very good. - Jan 27 2005

I was actually trying to portray the devil as more of a spirit than the actual freebsd logo. It is a red devil spirit entering the center of the screen into your computer. It is a representation and is NOT a debian swirl. - Oct 15 2004

definitely... but I havn't really had the time to do it lately. I've released another bsd background titled Devil Inside, look it up. I'l get this one cleaned up whenever I can and then I'l update it. - Oct 15 2004
Actually, I was thinking of creating a crystal version of this and completely reworking chuck and the windows logo to make them look less blurry around the edges. I also think that semi-transparent crystal flames would look very nice. Since I use crystal themes and crystal icons I figure why not have my background match and look stylish while doing it? Anyways, I'm going to brush up on my crystal effects and give it a go whenever I get the chance. - Mar 24 2004

I thought that the many Active Heart fans might enjoy this. Since the author of the theme is japanese (like my gf) I figured that this is the origin of the name of the theme.

Enjoy all, and keep up the above excellent work amaterasu. I look forward to many future versions of this theme. - May 27 2004

I recently upgraded from 3.1 to 3.2 and had been using mosfet's liquid for an extremely long time. I was sad to hear that he has discontinued development on it for now. I then headed over to one of my favorite sites (this one) and started searching for alternatives that would function in 3.2. I stumbled across Baghira and decided to give it a try. It compiled nicely, well, after I uncommented that math line. I then started playing with it only to discover how amazing it truly is. The tweaks are very nice, I have tried all of the options in the theme and they all work flawlessly for me. The no bevel tweak is great with the new transparent panel support. Anyways, bottom line, this theme is absolutely amazing. Mosfet would be proud. Keep up the great work! I would suggest that the next version be released with some fairly original window decorations if you could. Keep up the great work, I expect to use this theme for a long time! - Apr 12 2004

Would you be able to slightly increase the thickness and darkness of the typing cursor. It's very thin and nearly impossible to see at times. You could even take a shot at animating it and making it spin like the window resizing arrows. I think this would look alot better as I'm kind of tired of squinting to see where it is. Thanks. - Apr 02 2004
Is there any chance that you might be able to make the main cursor a little darker blue. All of the other elements of this theme have a nice darker blue that goes well with most liquid themes but the change in color for the cursor to the hand is way too noticeable. I love the color of all of the other elements but feel that the lightness of the pointer arrow is a bit overdone. Any chance in darkening it up a bit to match the rest of the mouse theme for 0.5? Thanks. Oh, and before I forget, wonderful work, the 3d effects are absolutely amazing, the best cursor theme I've seen, by far. - Apr 02 2004

It is quite well done for someone who is just beginning. My only real suggestion for modifications to this would be to make the text less blurry, perhaps use some solid text or solid text with a slight emboss filter applied. The style of text that you used would work if it were green with a little less glow around the edges. You could also make the text blend a little better with the background by making it a slightly darker shade of blue than the rest of the background or even use green and play around with some of the filters to get a computer text type appearance.

All in all, I like it.
