The previous version of the plugin worked, but although the *.so files are in the correct place with the newer version (0.5), Kopete (Ubuntu Jaunty) does not see the plugin. Perhaps I still have the older version so I can go back to it. - Jul 01 2009

I am getting an error:
konqueror(5854) KConfigGroup::readXdgListEntry: List entry MimeType in "/usr/share/kde4/services/ServiceMenus/run-in-xterm-kde4.desktop" is not compliant with XDG standard (missing trailing semicolon).


I will look at my other Service Menus and see where this trailing semicolon should be. - May 26 2009

I visited the homepage for the plugin and in the FAQ, I found the information I needed to compile the plugin in Ubuntu Intrepid and Ubuntu Jaunty. I believe this plugin even stops authorization spam sent through the ICQ server, something I have been unable to do until now.

I am unable to compile in KDE 4.2 (ubuntu Jaunty) because make complains it cannot find the Kopete libraries. I am using cmake but it is the 'make' step that fails.

I am using this plugin also in KDE3 where it seems to stop the auth spams. - Apr 09 2009

I did not see there was an additional font I had to install, the Federation font. I installed it and restarted KDE (3.5.9) and it is working now.

I am running Kubuntu Hardy Heron and I installed the LCARS theme from KDE's desktop theme installer and all I see is the LCARS box but there are no letters on it. I installed the LCARS font separately, from Konqueror and I made it systemwide, and I also have beautifulsoupd installed. - Sep 15 2008

I think this is a useful plugin for some of the protocols that do not store and forward messages when the intended recipient goes online.

The version of Kopete in KDE 4.0 has some anti-spam features but the spams disguised as authorization requests in ICQ still get through. Is there any way of dealing with those spams? Most of the ones I receive are either in the Cyrillic alphabet or have a URL or both, so that might be one way of being rid of them. An authorization request should not have URL's and I don't read Russian. - Jun 12 2008

KDE 3.5.6 on kubuntu Feisty.

I installed tweaK after compiling it on a Debian system. The app comes up but after restarting KDE, kicker is gone and so is everything on the desktop.

I used a test account for this so I did not lose any important configs :) - May 14 2007

It would not compile in kubuntu Feisty (I said Edgy in my earlier post but that was in error) but I did get it to compile in Debian Etch. I will try it out as a test user since I have read some posts about KDE being broken after Tweak was used. - May 14 2007
