QtCurve by CraigD 2890 comments
I am getting a lot of error messages from Firefox 3 when using QtCurve:
(firefox-bin:17268): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from `GtkArrow' to `GtkContainer'
(firefox-bin:17268): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_container_add: assertion `GTK_IS_CONTAINER (container)' failed
(firefox-bin:17268): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_realize: assertion `GTK_WIDGET_ANCHORED (widget) || GTK_IS_INVISIBLE (widget)' failed
(firefox-bin:17268): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_gc_set_ts_origin: assertion `GDK_IS_GC (gc)' failed
(...)
(firefox-bin:17268): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_paint_arrow: assertion `style->depth == gdk_drawable_get_depth (window)' failed
etc.
Also, the "down arrow button" of the drop-down location bar widget is not drawn. It is drawn correctly when using gtk's default theme. I have not tested with other GTK themes though... Oh! and it is drawn correctly when customizing the toolbar !? Go figure... :)
Info:
Distro is some kind of Arch Linux...
cairo is 1.5.8
glib2 is 2.14.6
gtk2 is 2.12.8
qtcurve is 0.56.1
firefox is 3.0 (beta4, 2008.02.25).

Sincerely, ATU (Anti-Troll Unit).
And while i'm here, a little question ;)
Are transparent icons on eg. push buttons looking nicer nowadays? They used to look quite bad. It would be a nice touch to make Kommander scripts look better... - Feb 26 2008

But now, I have another problematic app... :)
I tried it with Bittorrent 4.4.0 and it works ok, the only problem being the file dialog will not show the second time. Meaning, it (the file-dialog) opens the first time you use it, but not second...

I guess it is quite hard to translate those functions to a kdialog... eg. I have a foo.xcf that i want to 'save as' test.png. In GIMP i would normally just type test.png and hit save, it would immediately send me to the png saving options dialog, but the kdialog asks me if i want to overwrite foo.xcf and then saves the file as test.xcf (should be test.png...)
If I hit cancel when GIMP asks me to overwrite foo.xcf, it then sends me to the png saving options dialog and after saves the file as test.png... - Mar 06 2006

Now the 'trick' for the view buttons is that the toolbar containing the navigation icons is the "location" toolbar. The "main" toolbar is used to display some basic icons (show panel, new tab) and the rest comes from the 'merge' of the various kparts (kfm, khtml, kate, etc.).
For the rest, like the 'LIX' kmenu button, you could maybe try kbfx. I sadly never had the chance to try it, but from what i can understand, it easily allows you to use a custom kmenu button.
The color-scheme is Lipstik White.
The windec is plastik. (an old version... I still use an old KDE 3.4 beta from february's CVS... never crashed once... :) - Aug 01 2005
