KDE 3.0-3.4 Themes
Maybe it's something about 7:00 in the morning that gets me going.....but! I'm putting out a version for kde-3.2. I might get someone else to help with it, I might not, I'm still working things out and working on png's for it plus finding my way around this messed up shit (gentoo sucks). But hopefully, I'll have a version out by the end of the month sense i'm moving and not sure if i can offer the ftp support from my webpage but i'll do my best. I have a spot in California i might be able to offer up for help on it from the webpage.

not sure if KDE's going to implement the use of ktheme for 3.2 or not, so far in RC1 it doesnt apear that way. Lots of things are based on actual styles (the part of the theme that sucks) and color schemes. As far as i know...there's not a whole lot i can do about it. I'll see if i can put out a non-ghetto style for this by the time of the first real release of 3.2

that first sentence has to be one of the funniest things i've ever heard......
anyway! that sys monitor is called gkrellm. Very usefull tool, lot better than anything made for KDE (it's more of a "anything but kde" app) You can find it at:
http://web.wt.net/~billw/gkrellm/gkrellm.html
lot of skins there, i think the plugins are located there too. Have fun! :) - Mar 02 2004

The theme is actually called Glow. I believe I got it off of here in fact. I hope this answers the slew of e-mails i've been getting about this.
Also, new update i've scheduled for the 28th of this month, hopefully it will include a custom widget and new backgrounds. Any new idea's would be greatly appreciated before I release the next version - Jul 15 2003

KDE 3.x Splash Screens by jchristman 7 comments
Sorry, but splash screens belong in the spash screen catagory. Not in kde3.1 themes and styles....

In KDE 3.1, transparancy was built in. it's based off of mofset's liquid and does pretty much the same functions as well. How you get it is through the KDE Control Center. Expand Apperence & Theme's. Click on Styles and then the Effects tab. To get your transparency exactly like mine this is what I have checked:
Enable GUI Effects.
-combobox effect -animate
-Tooltip effect -disabled
-menu effect -make translucent
-menu tear-off handles -application level
Menu drop shadow
Menu translucency Type -Xrender Blend
Menu opacity -set to 62%
I hope this is of help to everybody that's been asking about the translucency.
Enjoy - May 28 2003

When will people learn that if they want bubbley XP they should just use Windows XP. No offence is taken i hope. But, big easy to use menu's have no place in linux as far as i'm concerned. Just my personal opinion. Nice work with the dark greens though.

If the backgrounds are in high demand I'll put them back in. When I tried to create it with the backgrounds that I have now, The entire theme ended up being 2 megs. Really, that was enough to piss me off and kde-look has a 750k limit. So, I suppose I can convert some bg's for you guys if that's what you want, or upload em to my ftp for you all to enjoy. So far everything I have goes great with the theme.

If anybody finds anything wrong, contact me as soon as possible so I can attempt to fix them. This has been tested on different linux distro's so hopefully it sould work with everybody with KDE 3.1. Check out the changelog in the README.

when you extract it (i.e. right click, extract here) it should only extract as one file called Iron.ktheme. If this has been a constant problem for people, please post a reply on this thread or e-mail me, i'll update as soon as possible. New version coming up in the next week or so.
