since you asked for suggestions:
it would be great to add some modularity allowing to configure which elemnents to show, at what size and position. such configurations could even be shared, which is always fun.
possible embeddable modules:
visuals
qt-widgets representing similar things as in the amarok gui
(big sized) lyrics
slowly scrolling
smoothly away in the 3rd dimension (as the star wars episode introductions do)
in sync with something like singit, http://stud.fbi.h-da.de/~glogow/
(well i once thought about such a thing, so i had to share that idea although it's out of the scope of that app)
my musikuiz script (or a rewrite ;-)
see http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=48961
yeah, that'd give it a nice gui!
other thoughts:
shortcut the visible buttons
provide a windowed mode
have fun,

Your tool is nice. I have a suggestion: It would be nice to be able to convert filenames recursively (automatically going into directories).
Ideally that could be done with an extra "-r" option for the encodeRename.sh script. (and is not really needed inside the servicemenu entry).
Thanks!! - Nov 12 2005

Unfortunately, there's still a small bug, which makes audioconvert only usable with absolute paths from the command line:
When using relative paths, line 606 tries to enter further down in the directory tree than it is possible.

Unfortunately it does not preserve the directory structure correctly:
Assuming a directory ~/ogg/artists/albums/tracks.ogg
I want to convert all oggs to mp3s. Applying audioconvert on ~/ogg/ and saving to ~/mp3/ gives me ~/ogg/mp3/convertedtracks.mp3 and cuts out the artists/albums directories.
If this problem would be solved, this tool could be a choice for mass-converting audio files.
Thanks,

compiling mateedit-0.2 using gcc-4.0.2, libqt3c-3.3.3, libqt3-mt-dev-3.3.4 (on current ubuntu breezy), i got:
message.h:183: error: ‘QBuffer’ has not been declared
I could easily fix it by inserting
#include
into message.h
Thanks for a promising app! (wanted to implement such a thing for myself) - Sep 25 2005
