You could try to use the script provided under http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=2179 .
But I have never tried it (don't use Mandrake)

Have you seen http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=3894&xexpand=all ?

Thanks. I'm using a uptodate (KDE 3.0.4) SuSE 8.0 with pre-installed Splash-Screen.
