Good idea ;-) I can create derivates for brightness/colored backgrounds. I'll change the font in next update.

To show this on the right of screen it simple: open the .conkyrc file and change "alignment tl" in "alignment tr".

And then change:
"own_window yes
own_window_type desktop
own_window_argb_visual yes
own_window_transparent yes
own_window_hints undecorate,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager,below"
for:
"own_window yes
own_window_transparent yes
own_window_type normal
own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager"

I hope it resolves your problem with Gnome Shell.
