Look at my previous comment here (a month ago). AWC is no longer developer and uses an old stack of the global windows which may not work correctly with some programs. Use the applets I posted above to get optimal and up to date experience on Plasma. - Apr 06 2019
This plasmoid is no longer developped and uses old stack of code for global menus that is no supported anymore! Please, use instead this three applets (made by latte devloper):

https://github.com/psifidotos/applet-window-buttons

https://github.com/psifidotos/applet-window-title

https://github.com/psifidotos/applet-window-appmenu

For stripping titlebar in maximized mode use latte (the option is on layouts configuration page as "borderless"). - Feb 17 2019
Don't use version from this site. It doesn't work fully so many options do nothing and that confuses people. Install AUR git version (on Arch/Manjaro) or directly from github. Only then you get full functionality, like on my desktop (with latte-dock, also on a panel):

No, lack of shadows is hardcoded, so to speak. The reason for this theme is to have no shadows so it won't have them and they won't be possible to turn on. - Mar 23 2019
If we are talking about details, it's "macbreeze" - one word. Has Apple patented any words with "mac" in it? What about MacDonalds :)?. Nah, I think we are good. Again, we have a lot of mac-something names in the Linux community for a long time and no one cares about it. If things change, then we can take new steps. No need to be overly sensitive now. - Mar 23 2019
This is possible but when you check opendesktop, there are plenty of Mac products and nobody has any problem with it. Apple is usually pursuing others when it matters to them, so for example if it's damaging their public view somehow or is direct competition, etc. In other cases, they just don't bother.
At the moment we are not on their radar so we shouldn't worry too much, at least now and the nearest feature.
- Mar 21 2019
Thanks, but I don't have time lately for such projects. However, I can't exclude that some day I will make a dark counterpart to this. - Mar 20 2019
Here is the link to the light Kvantum glass theme:
https://www.opendesktop.org/p/1240691/

And if you need dark one:
https://www.opendesktop.org/p/1201321/

Read the descriptions for link to aurorae themes matching those Kvantum themes. However, I still prefer to use Breezemite. - Sep 15 2018
Basically, window transparency on Qt-KDE programs is provided by Kvantum theme. It's all in the description.
Some programs, like Konsole have own settings to provide transparency - go to Edit profile, look, enable transparency and blur. Gtk programs won't have window transparency, also some Qt won't have it either, it depends on how they are constructed and if they use a class style (not sure how it is properly named, I'm not a developer) that chosen Kvantum theme is making semi-transparent.
All of it has nothing to do with my desktop theme, but Macbreeze Shadowless simply suit the light, transparent Kvantum theme as shown os screens. - Aug 28 2018

By the way, did you install version for Plasma 5.13+? - Oct 10 2018
I tried it on Thumbleweed in virtualbox and I cannot recreate the issue. It works as intended, although I realized now how strange Manjaro icon looks on Open Suse OS ;) , maybe I introduce more general icon in the feature. Of course, I had to close plasmashell and start it anew to get rid or shadow and panel edge. Anyway, here is the screen (I changed for the brighter wallpaper then one that comes by default):

https://imgur.com/BwkMzcD - Oct 10 2018
That gray line is not part of the theme, this is some kind of bug.

Did you try killing plasmashell and loading it again? Usually, I find plasmashell in ksysguard and after getting rid of it I hit "alt+space" and type plasmashell, enter. Often a line artifact is visible after applying theme for the first time so after rellogging/rebooting or relaunching plasmashell it fixes itself.

If that doesn't work, I'll try to launch open suse in virtualbox and see if the issue can be replicated there. Do you use Leap of Thumbleweed? - Oct 09 2018
If you would like to test fully transparent title bar, check Auro-G. It's a transparency overkill ;P. Even I cannot use it. - Feb 12 2017
Thanks :)

Plasma 5.9 is still not available on Manjaro - my main system. I hope it will show up in incoming weeks. However from what I heard, despite introducing general Look-And-Feel packs, there is still no gui way to compose them together and import to a kde store. I could do it manually but so far I have no way to check it out how it all works. I suspect it will take months till 5.9 matures and I will figure out how to do it.

The second thing is, there is so many ways the desktop can be set so I'm not sure if my pre-defined look will make sense for someone. For me, such packs are just a quick way to set most things, but you still need to adjust panel and other things manually.

At the moment if you want semi-transparent title bars, use Freeze titlebar theme. There are some fully transparent ones but I found out they are not usable on the long run. Semi-transparent is a compromise and it can work, although it won't be liked by many. Just imagine few maxed out windows. All title bars will be overlapping on each other making it not look good. I still use such setting, but it's an acquired taste and other settings like wallpaper won't help with it. As to Konsole, you need to tweak profile settings for a semi-transparent look - this one works well and gives awesome feel :).

To sum it up, if there will be look and feel pack, it's not coming soon, but will there be one, I am not sure. Too early to tell. - Feb 12 2017
This is deliberately an extreme transparent theme and I like to keep it that way. This means, it will only work well with dark, homogeneous wallpapers as showed in screen above. When using different wallpapers it is advised to switch to Maia or other semi-transparent themes that do have background, which makes easier to read text. - Jan 29 2017

I was a bit disappointed with this plymouth. It looks cool on preview photos but when it's applied, the resolution or look is bad. I expected to see elegantly blurred background with a sharp, great looking Manjaro logo and additional text. Instead, logo and the text seems to be unsharp itself. In the result, the whole feels like a low res or low quality and not elegant at all. Also, the animation was not done right but since it's been a while I used it, I don't remember the details of the animation. - Apr 05 2018

Alienware 17 R3. Added ssd to it and put Manjaro on it. Windows resides on hdd in case it's needed (key lights, occasional sound unlocking). I also shrunk windows partition to make space for some symlinked home directories.

One thing that I haven't figure out yet is how to make hdmi output work on linux when using bumblebee. Without it I can't use my TV on linux :(. But that's a different story and here is no place for it. Also comment boxes became ridiculously small... ;)

Anyway, you can contact me through my google site I gave above, so we can share some hints about making machine working as well as possible on linux. - Apr 21 2017
It works! That was quick!

Too pity that it shows only for a 1 sec. and is gone... Too quick boot on ssd I guess. I don't even have a chance to see spinning circle around the alien head. Similar issue is with some other plymouths that have delayed and more complex animation: just an image and boom: system splash is there for another 1-2 sec. and the desktop appears. Nevertheless, it's a nice touch.

Thanks! :D - Apr 21 2017
Commands worked well, they set your plymouth, but it couldn't be applied nevertheless, hence parser error.

I saw here some other plymouths with install instructions and they also seem to be debian/ubuntu specific. It's possible that the plymouth must be rewritten for arch system to make it work :(.

Arch in general improved file system structure and cleaned it. Debian is making the same changes but in a very, very slow pace :(.

Maybe you need to download some arch plymouths and see their build to figure out what needs to be changed. I guess it's nothing you can do quickly and I can only hope you have interest and time to play with it and figure it out. Maybe instead of spamming this comment board, will move to another way of communication. I would give you my email, but such comments are not a good place for that (boots will find it and throw more spam to your email adres). Maybe google+ profile will be safer. From there we can use google hangouts or share emails.

Here (hopefully content will not be cut out automatically):

https://plus.google.com/u/0/112902119270556147344

And once this will work, you make proper changes and give instructions on this page. - Apr 21 2017
Sorry, for spamming, but it seems that comment system on this sites automatically cuts brackets and content in it, so that was not my mistake and above it deleted them again (sight)... Here it is again, hopefully with full content:

Small mistake, forgot to add "theme" in the example above, a pity I can't edit comments:

To change a theme and rebuild initrid image at the same time:
sudo plymouth-set-default-theme -R theme - Apr 21 2017

Also, to give you a general overview, that is how setting plymouth works on arch:

Plymouths are located in:

/usr/share/plymouth/themes/

There are some files in /lib/plymouth/ but there are no plymouth specific ones, rather files needed to run plymouth in general.

To list all plymouth themes:
plymouth-set-default-theme -l

To change theme and rebuild initrid image at the same time:

sudo plymouth-set-default-theme -R

That's the whole deal. It works for plymouths I have on my system (arch ones and the manjaro specific one). - Apr 21 2017
Manjaro, which is arch based. I guess debian and arch handle this differently. Since you know more how those things work, maybe you will understand more of:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Plymouth

And then you could put here instructions how to install it on debian and arch systems once we figured it out ;).

I would love to use that plymouth. I played with many and most of them are ugly, basic and badly designed. From the picture above it looks like a really good looking one and frankly the best plymouth I saw so far... and given the fact I use alienware, I would love to make it work, but I don't have enough knowledge to follow it through. I can only give a feedback if you're up to. Thanks :) - Apr 21 2017
sudo update-alternatives --config default.plymouth
sudo: update-alternatives: command not found

What system are you running? - Apr 21 2017
Small correction:
Parser error, couldn't open the file /lib/plymouth/themes/alienware-splash/theme.sc

I did change it with initrams update, I used:

sudo plymouth-set-default-theme -R alienware-splash

Will check your config command.
- Apr 21 2017
Situation progressed:
When rebooting system, it kindly hung on the closing, which allowed me to see the relevant message: missing /lib/plymouth/themes/theme.sc file if I recall correctly.

Looks like system is made to use /usr/share/plymouth/themes/alienware-splash/ while you designed plymouth to look for files in /lib/plymouth/themes/? Just guessing.

Besides, there is no such file in your directory. I guess I can't go any further without your help now. I hope I gave you all the info you need to fix it. It would be great to have alienware plymouth on alienware laptop :D (aside the one on the very begining - before grub). - Apr 21 2017
Unfortunately, plymouth didn't work. I got some "error" and "not found" during boot up, but couldn't read it. Tried to see some journalctl -b but there are too many lines and after few minutes of scrolling, I lost hope I will find it in that jungle. Tried | grep error but no luck. Seems like it didn't list all error messages somehow :( - Apr 21 2017
There was no themes directory there. I created it and copied the unpacked alienware-splash directory, still no luck. System doesn't see it and when trying to apply I get:

/usr/share/plymouth/themes/alienware-splash/alienware-splash.plymouth does not exist

I put the alienware-splash directory in /usr/share/plymouth/themes/alienware-splash/ at the beginning and I left it there. It looks as if it was looking for a specific file there: alienware-splash.plymouth. Yours have only theme.plymouth. I changed it to alienware-splash.plymouth and voila. System sees your plymouth correctly :). Now I hope it will work well after applying, will let you know. - Apr 21 2017
I have alienware laptop so this plymouth seemed perfect. I unpacked the file, moved to /usr/share/plymouth/themes/ and... the system doesn't see it. When using:

sudo plymouth-set-default-theme alienware-splash

I got a message that plymouth does not exist. It's also not showed on a plymouth list. Is it outdated or so? Has anyone idea how to fix it? Or am I doing something wrong? - Apr 20 2017
