The kalyxo project made the debian packages for unstable, until the server goes up again, you can install adding this line to your sources.list

deb unstable main

and then run this command after apt-get update

apt-get install kde-improvement

this install the minimun requirements to get all patches working.

If you type

apt-get upgrade

you will download all the +kalyxo0 branch. - Nov 20 2004

I compile and package this apps for Debian, but I found a few things wrong

* There isn't an icon for the application and for gnome tree.
* There isn't an entry for the K-menu
* Sometimes don't load the KDE tree and only shows the gnome one, resolved if close the application and run again.
* Some icons from the KDE config shows bigger than the rest (i think because it's not a 16x16 icon but a 22x22 icon), but this probably it's not a developer's fault

But I really like because show one more time that KDE is really, really an integrative desktop :-) - Jul 13 2004

If someone have problems compiling this apps with the following error:

checking if UIC has KDE plugins available... no

configure: error: you need to install kdelibs first.

Just change the line 29349 in the configure file that contains this:

if test -f actest.cpp && grep klineedit actest.cpp > /dev/null; then

with this

if test -f actest.cpp && grep -i klineedit actest.cpp > /dev/null; then

By the way, great app :-) - Jun 26 2004

everybody was talking about this like the possibiulities I mentioned didn't exist at all, including you

Maybe I don't write English very well but in the resume you can read:

I made a first version based in .directory files, maybe it could be a good idea to implement this in konqueror code.

I never try to deceive nobody when I create this little hack, is just a few .directory files plus more icons.

I want to discuss if this will be a hack that can be incorporated in konqueror code, no if this hack may be continue alone. have I explained myself correctly now? :-)

Like I say before, it's just an idea, an example of what can do the KDE hackers for add more usability "by default".

By the way, do you download the file? do you see the NEW icons that I made?. Probably not ;-)

I forget to say that I add too a short description for every directory. You can look in "Detailed view list"

Please report more feedback - May 10 2004
I made a debian package but I don't know how to upload.

Maybe creating a new entry? - May 09 2004
How can do it that? Can you give me any examples? I don't know how to change the icons without the .directory file inside it. - Apr 30 2004
Yes, but this is a feature very usefull for your image folder, music folder, document folder etc...

But for now it not shows the meaning of boot, etc, home, lost+found, opt, root, usr and var. - Apr 29 2004
I agree with you in many aspects. The icons will be a directory icon + something about it, but I'm not an artist :-(, I just used the icons from KDE crystal.

I don't pretend to create the super-upper-mega-killer-application, it's just an idea to begin the debate and look for better implementation and I like some of your ideas.

Now it's time to find an artist and a developer to implement all our ideas ;-) - Apr 29 2004
