I use nano and simply press Ctrl+O and look for "Pidgin not running", this will bring you to the part of the code where the message is coded, and change it to whatever you like. I changed both messages to "WAITING..." I think they look better.
Most of the time, I have to go to that directory and make the Pidgin screenlet binary files executable anyways, because they're not installed that way by default, so go to /usr/share/screenlets/Pidgin/ and run "chmod +x *.py"
I'm having my own issue though, my Pidgin Screenlet is not detecting that the latest Pidgin is running. Pidgin Screenlet is 0.3.3 and Pidgin is version 2.10.6. Any help would be appreciated. - Nov 11 2012
