I wonder though, is it possible to have the widget fold up on a click? I mean, kinda like how code folding works in text editors. Know what I mean?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking you to do this to your widget, I'm just asking if it's possible with karamba.

Thank you for your iconset, I'm using it right now ;)
BTW, buildscript.py has been updated.

It's the least I can do in return for your awesome iconset! I only wish I could do more.

I can especially see some faster degradation in the 16-bit icons converted from 8-bit than the 8-bit to 8-bit icons when I enlarge them to get a closer look so there are definitely some differences.
This script provides faster building, less space used in storage, and less degradation in the icons. I only did this for fun and I was pleasantly surprised at the result.
Hope someone out there finds this script useful.

I had some time this evening so I went ahead and did some more with buildscript.py. It plays a little better with other iconsets now so I went ahead and released it.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

This script that I wrote will only work with your iconset or any other iconset that gives only a 128x128 directory of icons to resize. It won't work with other iconsets such as 'Breathless', for example, because Breathless includes 128x128 and 32x32 directories of icons to be resized.
I'm sure I could work on it to get it to work with most, if not all, iconsets. I was just goofing off with your iconset and wrote the script specifically for your source layout.
It wouldn't make sense for me to release it to the public if it will only work with your icons. I was just playing around and I was astonished to see a difference between my buildset script and the one you're using so I just wanted to tell you about it.
Cheers,

I grew impatient with the included Bash buildscript so I wrote up a new one using Python and PIL (Python Imaging Library). I was absolutely gobsmacked to find that it decreased the processing time from an average of 18 minutes and 49 seconds to an average of 5 minutes and 24 seconds on my machine. Not only that, it also decreased the tarfile size from 125MB to 66MB. Uncompressed, it's 165MB vs. 98MB.
I was a bit perplexed at this as I was only hoping for minimal improvements, if any. I did a little investigating and found that when the Bash script used convert to resize the icons it also converted the icons from 8-bit to 16-bit format. This, IMHO, is a total waste of time and space because you don't get any more information in 16-bit files converted from 8-bit source files. Please do correct me if I'm wrong, but I examined the files very closely and I don't see any difference between the 8-bit and 16-bit icons. In fact, when I enlarged the icons for closer viewing, I saw that the 16-bit icons degraded more quickly than the 8-bit icons. I imagine, however, you would see some gains if the source files were 16-bit to begin with, but as it is now, there's no gain.
Anyway, let me know if you want to see my script for yourself and I'll send it to you.

When I first installed your app and attempted to run it, I got Slackware's ncurses driven xorgsetup. I was already familiar with Slackware's xorgsetup so I knew something was wrong and investigated further. Another user may not have been familiar with Slackware's xorgsetup and would assume that the ncurses driven one was yours.
So you see, not only are you stepping on someone else's toes by naming your app the same as someone else's, but you may also be shooting yourself in the foot by confusing your potential users.
Cheers and thanks for releasing this app.

This GUI seems to complicate matters. I've tried a combination of things from leaving the source and destination fields, general and filesystem options blank and inserting the whole rsync command into User Defined options to breaking up the command over the various fields and all I get are "Error in rsync protocol data stream", "Error in IPC code", and "Usage and syntax errors".
Shrug, I'll stick to the CLI, much more user-friendly and it just works :)

I hadn't realized that. Guess the whole thing should be left alone then.
Just trying to help reduce the size of the package, but I certainly don't want to impact the quality.

I have three questions:
1. Is it possible for you to create a separate package containing changed or new icons so that we don't have to download the whole 124MB tarball every time there's an update?
2. Could you have a separate package which only contains the 128x128 sized icons along with the buildset script so that the package would be dramatically reduced in size and we could just run the script to build the whole set?
3. Could you add a version file within the tarball so that we can be sure which version we are currently using? That way we won't make the mistake of downloading a version we already have.
Please don't take these questions as criticisms, they're merely suggestions. Thanks for these awesome icons and please keep up the good work!

"Just apply then and enjoy ;) and then tell me if everything\'s like in the screenshot"
No, not quite. I had to download a separate deKorator theme and I didn't get the wallpaper as shown. Where'd you get that wallpaper?
I also don't have the Crystal-project icons installed, but the Dark-Glass iconset goes with this theme beautifully.

Essentially does the same thing except it doesn't use a terminal. Instead it paints the output to the root window.

Just downloaded and compiled the new version without a hitch.
Qosmic is pretty nifty, I've had a lot of fun with it and I've created a few keepers so far.
One thing missing though, it would be nice if there were a progressbar or some indication in the status bar that qosmic was working.
Good work and thanks for releasing it.
LocoMojo - Oct 26 2007
Thanks for that!
I haven't had a chance to mess about with it just yet, I wanted to let you know that I finally got it to build.
Thanks for your time and patience!
Off to check out qosmic :)

Hmm, no config.h ? What am I missing?
For shits and giggles I tried the build script and I got the exact same error as earlier even though I added the line "LIBS += -L/usr/lib/" as you suggested.
Any other ideas?
Thanks for helping.

As you can see, not only does it install those files I mentioned above, but it also installs files to QT and libexec.
Must be something wrong with Checkinstall or maybe I did something wrong, but I'm not sure what. Thankfully I didn't install it or I would have been in a world of trouble. I merely copied nmapsi4 to ~/bin and it works fine.
Neat little app by the way, I like it better than NmapFE.
LocoMojo - Oct 07 2007
The problem I'm facing is if I install nmapsi4 with the Slackware package I created then later decide to uninstall it, it will also uninstall cmake, ccmake, and ctest.
Is make install supposed to install these three files?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
These are the scoreboards I'm interested in:
http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/scoreboard

As for your calling it "football", no apologies necessary. I have Euro friends who never cease to rag on me about us calling American football "football". They keep telling me that it should be called something like "pansy assed, padded throw ball".
*Sigh*
That's alright though, as soon as the Americans start getting a little more interested in soccer, we'll own it and tell y'all what to call it.
:)
Thanks again, in advance, for any help.

KDE 3.5 Themes by oldfield 11 comments
Please?
Pretty please with sugar on top?
I've got this wallpaper on my Slackware box and if my Slacker buddies come over and see this they'll burn me at the stake for blasphemy.
We can't have that, can we? :)

Too bad the wallpaper and kmenu are Kubuntu specific though :(
Could you release this wallpaper without the Kubuntu name and logo? Or if you have to have a logo, how about a KDE logo instead?
Cheers.

I have python-2.5.1 installed and I also have pysqlib2 installed. I also have all the other dependencies you listed above, KDE, PyKDE, PyQt installed.
When I attempt to run kpopassistant, I get this error:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "./kpopassistant.py", line 41, in <module>
from sqlite3 import dbapi2 as sqlite
File "/usr/lib/python2.5/sqlite3/__init__.py", line 24, in <module>
from dbapi2 import *
File "/usr/lib/python2.5/sqlite3/dbapi2.py", line 27, in <module>
from _sqlite3 import *
ImportError: No module named _sqlite3
I checked /usr/lib/python2.5 and I see that I have a directory there called sqlite3/ and a file called dbapi2.py there.
I seem to have everything I need, but I can't get past this error and run kpopassistant.
I also tried the following in konsole:
python
>>> import sqlite3
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
File "/usr/lib/python2.5/sqlite3/__init__.py", line 24, in <module>
from dbapi2 import *
File "/usr/lib/python2.5/sqlite3/dbapi2.py", line 27, in <module>
from _sqlite3 import *
ImportError: No module named _sqlite3
>>>
I tried reinstalling python to no avail.
Any suggestions?

How disappointing!
We really need something like this for American football or is there already something out there?
Anyone know?

It doesn't work as well in Dolphin as it does in Konqueror. Only "open as text" works in Dolphin.
Sorry about that.

Dolphin Service Menus by kubicle 227 comments
Is it possible to add a "Move to trash/Delete" function?
Of course, one could open Dolphin as root then delete files to one's heart's content, but that would be rather dangerous. Would be cool to open Dolphin as a regular user then if need be, delete files owned by root via Root Actions.

If you can't fix the gaps problem, that isn't so much a problem for me either since I could just manually edit the index.html file to get it working correctly.
Cheers!

If the last row of thumbnails is not full then the footer div will muck things up.
In other words, if I set up a page with a maximum of 20 pictures, but only actually use 18 pictures then the last row will be short 2 pictures and the footer div will try to fill that gap.
What needs to be done is to always make the last row full before the div footer comes in. Maybe you could fill the gaps with transparent spacers?

Just upgraded to 1.3.0 and you're right, the options dialog is way too big for my 1024x764 screen. Any way you could fix that with tabs maybe?
A new problem came up for me. I'm getting gaps between pictures in the rows. Check out my screenshot to see what I mean.

Oh well!
Your theme is easily the best available that I could see.
Good work!

I have one gripe though. When I use this it tacks on a .jpeg extension which I don't much care for. In other words if I have 01.jpg, 02.jpg, 03.jpg...the finished gallery winds up with 01_jpg.jpeg, 02_jpg.jpeg, 03_jpg.jpeg.
Is it at all possible to make it so that it uses the original naming format so that I'd wind up with 01.jpg instead of 01_jpg.jpeg?
Thanks much for this wonderful addition to Digikam!

I've been using lightbox for about a year now...love it. Your version is a little slow though, I prefer the pictures to fade in and out a little faster.
Voted good!
Thanks.

I'm using Digikam 0.9.2-final and if I remember correctly it came with the kipi plugins. According to help>about>digikam I am using Kipi library version 0.1.5.

I have several themes installed and they all work ok, but elegant isn't.
The pictures are resized and all the necessary files are exported to the working directory, but the index.html file is missing the body tags and everything between. In other words, this is all I'm left with in index.html:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<title>game4</title>
<script type="text/javascript" src="elegant/lytebox.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="elegant/lytebox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="elegant/" />
</head>
</html>
As you can see, there's no body.
Everything else seems to be working fine.
Help?
