Thanks luckyb for quick response. Yes need some warning/deterrent e.g 'Is your usb mounted?'. I do see the little symbols to the left of the backup name, however you have to click this to see the Critical warning or whatever. The symbol does change according to status. The Critical warning 'Destination directory /media/Freecom is empty or does not exist. This task will not be skipped. Directory will be created if it doesn't exist and filled with new backup data' I see that you have to create directory if not existing but if Freecom or whatever is not mounted a dir will be created in /media and filled resulting in root directory being 100% filled. Can a check be done for mounted media which would be best solution and if not mounted action not allowed until it is? I can't see anyone doing a backup to the /media directory on root so if the directory is not there (not mounted) then it should not be allowed to create one there. - Jan 27 2011

Yep thanks however for us non experts an automatic check to see if destination is open would be nice. If not then a little pop up to warn us and it would not continue. I have seen another exact same issue on another forum, so it does happen. When my problem did happen some one that doesn't have a clue would not be able to boot. Its critical for us techlessees.

All the best - Jan 27 2011

Just got luckyBackup, and I created a backup on ext usb Freecom disk. All went well but when later syncing I forgot to plug in the ext disk resulting in system freeze. I booted on another partition and found that the root directory was 100%. I then found that a Freecom directory in /media with all the files. I deleted this dir and was able to reboot again.

Is there any way of avoiding this in future.

Thanks great program

K3b

When ripping audio cd to flac k3b 1.9.2.0 stalls and crashes on last track. I have to terminate the program. When I looked at the folder it seems to have ripped all tracks. I have had same result on several cds. I am on kde 4.4.4 on fedora 13. I have flac-1.2.1-6.fc12.x86_64
lame-3.98.3-1.fc13.x86_64

I also tried it once with mp3 and ripped successfully but program crashed and again had to terminate it. - Jun 27 2010

A little update - if I let the message popup stay and not answer yes or no it seems to finish ripping and I believe all tracks are ok. If I hit 'yes' to continue I get an error, then I restart and rip again and the program continues from the track it stopped at.

Little more success re garbage on pausing and playing second track. Noticed Amorok did the same. I fiddled with pulseaudio with no joy until I picked zine backend instead of gstreamer in system settings. Playing ok now with pulseaudio. However it is pretty complicated with little help from forums etc and I don't have much confidence. - Jun 21 2010

Also how do I add to playlist? - Jun 20 2010

I am using 2.6.33.5-124.fc13.x86_64
Having just found this program it would be ideal for me. I usually rip to flac or mp3 with k3b but recently it started crashing around last track. Now using Audex 0.72beta1 I get the pop up quite often about drive reading slow etc and then it may continue or sometimes it crashes If I terminate and try again it finishes the job. I can see no problem with the CDs, no scratches etc.
I am putting it down to Fedora's/ Kde multimedia (fedora has never been good with multimedia as far as I experienced) issues but I don't know.
I also have 2 drives but can only access sr0.

By the way any idea when next upgrade will come out? - Jun 19 2010
