I updated the primary download links for the 2.2 and 2.2 lite version. They now actually work. - Jul 20 2009
Neat. Though in all fairness, very few of the icons in the set are my originals. - Nov 28 2007
The readme.txt file contains all of that. - Nov 28 2007
Did this actually fix the OO.o issue? I was never able to replicate your problem. - Nov 27 2007
navneeth: I'll change it in the next version.

Shashwat: I need a bit more information to fix that problem. If you could drag "about ubuntu" to your desktop, open a text editor, and open the "about ubuntu" .desktop file. Then post the icon= line I might be able to fix this. If however, that .desktop uses the the generic "distributor-logo" for it's icon, there isn't much I can do about it. Not without making things look weird on most other distro's.

As far as the buttons in OO.o not showing up, I'm not sure what to do about that. Give me some time.

Thank you for the complements people.:) - Nov 24 2007
Someone asked me what license some of my icons where under. As this was via a pm and I cannot respond to pm's, here you go.

OO.o icons are from the OS-K set. According to the OS-K license, they are gpl. You can find OS-K on kde-look.org

For evolution and fspot, I did not explicitly include icons for either app. If you could send me a link to a screenshot with these apps in it, so I can see which image is used, then maybe I can answer the question.

Either email me, or reply here. - Nov 23 2007
It turns out it was possible. Done. - Nov 22 2007
The url you posted probably works fine for you. However, I'm betting that you are logged in to that site. When I enter it in my browser I get a mysql error.

Using wget to retrieve the file, I see the network monitor applet icon. I'm not sure, but I don't think it is actually possible to change those icons via a theme file.

If you happen to know of a gnome theme that does so, post me a url. I'll go take it apart and see if I can figure out how this was accomplished. - Nov 21 2007
Yeah, the gnome 2.2 documentation didn't include anything about changing emblems in icon themes. If you want to read my rant, and solution, regarding this take a look here.

Ok, rapidshare mirror online. Use the mirror 1 download link. - Nov 21 2007
Possibly. Here's the url for my general fileplanet account.

http://hosted.filefront.com/Leadgolem

If the download link really won't work for you, try browsing for the files there. - Nov 19 2007
Just rechecked, all links are still working... I have heard some German ISP's have a problem with fileplanet. - Nov 18 2007
The above links should work properly now. - Nov 06 2007
Oh, one more thing. Please keep in mind the icons in this theme are present if several resolutions. Just because you changed the image for one of the resolutions doesn't mean you changed the image being used. - Oct 27 2007
First, thank you for the compliment. Second, I think you are having difficulty because of the way many distros do icon themes.

In general, you have three locations the system draws icons from. The first is usually /usr/share/pixmaps. The icon's in that folder are overridden by the ones in your theme folder. That folder is usually in /usr/share/themes. The icons from there are overridden by a third set. In a folder with your current theme name, usually in $HOME/.themes.

So, It's a matter of primacy. If you change the icons in your .themes folder you are changing that icon for only yourself. Hence that icon would override anything in /usr/share/themes as /usr/share/themes is a location for every user to get icon themes from.

Now, /usr/share/pixmaps is a kind of base icon folder. Even if a theme doesn't have an icon for something it can look in /usr/share/pixmaps for it's icon. This is the folder that package management software would add icons to.

Please be aware that these folder locations, and hierarchal order, vary with linux distribution. I used examples from my Fedora 7 system.

Frankly, I have no idea if that is documented anywhere. It's something I just kinda figured out. - Oct 27 2007
If anyone is interested, here are some alternate trash icons not included in the original set.

There is an icon included for thunderbird. Sometimes icons in the menu's don't show up until you have restarted X. Ctrl+Alt+Backspace.

If the thunderbird icon still does not show up, please drag the menu item for it to your desktop. Then open a text editor and browse to your desktop. Open the thunderbird item and tell me exactly what it says after icon= - Jul 26 2007
You actually don't have to. Open your gnome theme manager. Click customize, go to the icons tab. Then click install. Browse for the .tar.bz2 file, and hit open. This will install the icon theme for your user only.

You can also call the app from the command line with "gnome-theme-manager".

If you want to install it for all users you need to find your icons folder. The exact location of this folder varies somewhat with distro. In my F7 it's /usr/share/icons. Then uncompress the folder in there. You will need root permissions to write to that folder. Usually you can do this by "su" then calling nautilus. IE "nautilus /usr/share/icons". - Jul 15 2007
Thank you, and sure. I'll see what I can find.

Just for the record, only a few of the icons in this theme are my own work. The vast majority are modifications of various kde crystal themes, among others. - Jul 15 2007
To think, I started this because I didn't care for Fedora's default icon set.:) - Jul 13 2007
If someone with a working card reader could let me know if the different icons for sd/mmc, ms, and cf cards is working. That would be great. - May 12 2007
Just so everybody knows, I intend to eventually replace all the icons from other sets I used. The operative word here being "eventually."

Secondly, if there is something that you don't like about the theme, please post a comment. I will work on it. - May 12 2007
To be honest, I have no idea. It's from an old backup of source images files. - May 10 2007

No actually, this contains only 100% originals. I haven't made folders etc.. that actually liked enough to show to anybody else.

If you want some really great ones though, take a look at this.

I suppose part of the reason people are rating me down, is this is not a complete icon theme. This is a source package for my originals. Not a theme. - Dec 09 2007

You need to set the icons up in gnome, since avant window manager pulls it's icons from your gnome theme. - Jan 31 2008
Hmm, I just rechecked and my zip compression respected the symlinks. Though in a heavily linked situation a .tar.bz2 came out 12.6mb and a zip came out 14.2mb.

I have decided to integrate a goodly number of your beautiful icons in my gnome icon theme. It is here.
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=58001 - Nov 21 2007
Sorry for the double post, my browser screwed up.

This would preclude continued development of this icon theme on a windows based system, but have you tried using symlinks? You would need to change your archive type to something like a .tar.bz2 since .zip usually doesn't handle symlinks properly. But, you should be able to reduce your overall archive size significantly.

I don't think you would need to adjust your script either. - Nov 17 2007
This is the single best icon set I have ever seen. Bravo!

It does, it just isn't setup to give anybody a root shell. The above methods are provided for transportability. - Nov 29 2007
After much banging of head into wall, I've figured out how to make this work in a Fedora system. The following lines will accomplish the same thing for Fedora as the RootTermInCurdir script.

kdesu -c "nautilus $NAUTILUS_SCRIPT_CURRENT_URI"
xterm -e su -c "nautilus $NAUTILUS_SCRIPT_CURRENT_URI"

The first has the problem of requiring kdebase to be installed. The second works, but is graphically unpleasant and the dialog box is uninformative.

I thought you might want to add the kdesu or the xterm -e options to your script as fallbacks.

Yes, I'm aware of the irony of using a kde specific app in a nautilus script. - Nov 27 2007
Yeah, I actually figured that out trying to write my own. Unfortunately Fedora 8 does not have either gnomesu or gksu. Running a locate on both commands gave me nothing.

I'm trying to track down how fedora creates the root login dialog box now.

I've been looking through the apps that use a root login dialog box. Fedora might be using python scripts for each individual item. If so, I'll just create a script that launches a terminal, and runs the nautilus stuff there. That way I can use the terminal for password input. - Nov 22 2007
You might want to mention that you must be one of the users that can use sudo for your root scripts to work.

For this reason the root scripts are useless on a default fedora system. Though all the others work very well. - Nov 21 2007

It's not actually a theme. Just one component for one.

Probably the easiest way is to find a theme you like, and replace the trash can icon with the one you like from here. You will probably need to create several versions of your proffered trash icon in multiple resolutions.

This is the icon set I made them for.

I can't believe I totally missed this the first time.

No svgz file is available, these were constructed as 3d models in blender. Not in a vector illustrating program.

I decided not to provide additional resolutions. There are a few different styles now, and I wanted to keep the download size small.

Thank you for the feedback.:) - Jun 27 2007
Thank you. It's the positive feedback that makes me want to continue making icons.:)

Actually, I agree. However, the wine is actually part of the interior of the glass. So, moving the vertices's for the wine would distort the glass shape. When I finish the new wine glass mesh, with the wine as a separate mesh, I'll make the change. - Jun 01 2007

You can also copy the link location, open a terminal, and wget "linklocationhere". Incidentally, sticking this in any type of archive would solve the problem, users would just have to unpack the archive first. - May 11 2007
