In other words, instead of creating your package with 'tar cjf microtrends-0.1.tar.bz2 microtrends/' and you'll be fine.
And yeah, i'm working on a plasmoid that uses qjson too, and should have very similar appearance. So far i had difficulties with the appearance (the 'backend' seem to work fine), so i wanted to have a look at the sources o your plasmoid. Maybe i'll use some ideas :) - Aug 26 2009

Do they really like plasmoids? or am i missing something?
I saw that in Qt Creator there're some clasees that start with 'K' - KServer - wouldn't they interfere with existing KDE framework?
And yeah, it's cool that you've made them, but wouldn't you like to join the Plasma team better? Or at least help KDE on Windows developers with porting Plasma? That'd help them a lot. - Jun 18 2009

It'd be nice. And it'd be for both KDE3 and KDE4 users (providing that you'll be still updating/supporting your this kicker applet) :) - Dec 11 2008

The panel seems to be somewhat Vistaish (or am i too paranoid?). Just at the beginning of a new KDE4 era we don't really need those yet-another-Vista/Mac-clone-theme. Really, respect the community. Of course, you're free to do them, and free to cone things, but it's not really good. It's time to invent, not to copy.
But for the start - nice beginning. Wish you more downloads and pluses ;-) - Dec 06 2008
though, the text-to-speech engines would be required :)
And this thingie (as plasmoid too) could be even configured to use RSS feed's avatar if there's no avatar distributed with it :P Though, the mouth line would be somewhat really tricky to implemet (unless, again, cusomizable by user) - Oct 23 2008

I mean, i was sure i posted this content on kde-look.org but as far as i understood some subsections of content on all the sites affilitated to openDesktop.org (see the blue logo on the very top left of the page) are using the same content. Thus KDE-look Clipart section is similar (identical?) to the one on GNOME-look.
So, as i said - it's not me :) - Oct 06 2008

cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr
in Kubuntu 8.04 then it won't work - the thing is KDE4 is installed into /usr/lib/kde4 thus everything kde related should be installed there. So, just instead of ...PREFIX=/usr it should be ...PREFIX=/usr/lib/kde4
The system settings control module will appear under advanced tab. But i haven't found any plasmoid for it. i'll search better for it, though... - Sep 30 2008

And about loving or hating KDE - i's subscribed on RSS and didn't mention that the link was to GNOME-look, not KDE-look. Sorry, i was really sure that you're kde user ))
but still, i hope you'll stop cloning some day and invent something new. Or at least begin to clone something, that noone cloed before - like Thallos, Aluminum alloy, Sentinel and others themes for MS Windows.
Good luck. - Jun 19 2008

Be different! Think out your own theme! Honestly, i'm jealous to those windos users as they can theme their systems with styleXP and WindowBlinds with SO MANY themes! Just visit any theming portal for windows - i know, it's 'enemy territory', but just get some ideas! try to copy come of those themes - if you really can't think out anything new. - Jun 19 2008

I thought i was doomed to tune my video driver and X-server settings again... ;-)
And by the way - no blur occurs for me in Mandriva 2008 with Compiz-Fusion until you set the "Alpha Blur" option in the Blur windows screen of CCSM. And it's better to use Gaussian blur instead of "4x Bilinear", that stands by default. Gaussian blur has some tweakable options right there, int the same "Blur windows" screen.
Thank you again =) - Mar 17 2008
Btw, you have that blur effect in your theme. Is it only on screenshot or is it a problem of my video settings, that prevent me of seing that effect?
Thanx - Mar 15 2008

I wanted you to put the source file in archive. I didn't wan't you to create a rasterized image of your vector work, i can do it myself =)
I mean - the source file is rather big and i want the SOURCE. The only way to make it smaller - just tar it and then gzip or bzip it. I really appreciate your work i i didn't want to be offensive. Just didn't want to download the "Full size". - Jan 18 2008

$ sd2xc-2.2.1.pl --name theme_name
inside the directory of unzipped CurXP theme. It creates some strange theme, that has only "Wait" animation in the preview in KDE. And it would be more correct to put in the description not "created with sd2xc", but ADD "Converted with sd2xc" to the description text of the CursorXP theme. - Jan 12 2008

About s-shot - fixed that. Thanks. Actually i was too lazy to do that, but since someone asked - here you are. The "screenshot" contains most of animation cycles, except for the "hand" cursor animation, which is a bit longer and inconvinient to put alongside with others. But it's the same style as everything else =) Use it. - Jan 10 2008

Can't locate Image/Magick.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at /usr/bin/sd2xc-2.1.pl line 63.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/sd2xc-2.1.pl line 63.
So, i've found out, that my Image.pm located not in the /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux, but in /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-mutli-thread.
So, i've made sym-links to the first and now i'm getting this:
Can't locate loadable object for module Image::Magick in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at /usr/bin/sd2xc-2.1.pl line 63
Compilation failed in require at /usr/bin/sd2xc-2.1.pl line 63.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/sd2xc-2.1.pl line 63.
and the sd2xc process begins to consume the memory and cpu resources. I know, it has something to do with @NIC variable, but how can i set it up or change it to help sd2xc find the Image/Magick.pm without making any sym-links?
I'm running Mandriva 2008, thus installed ImageMagick from RPMs. And yeah, i'm not sure i've got the proper installation of ImageMagick-perl package, because i couldn't find any for my distro. - Dec 27 2007

If this is a regular theme and doesn't use python

I don't know which packages are to be installed to make it work, 'cause i have "fantastik" and "4in1 rss" themes which works ideally for me. Could you please specify the dependencies of your theme (and it would be nice of you to list them in your theme description too). - Dec 17 2007

convert input.file [options] output.file
So, I've tried it this way:
[kraplax@localhost ~]$ convert ./Slax_blue.jpg -resize 50% ./Slax_blue1.jpg
and it worked! It just contracted my image and saved it under another name. And i've also opened your theme file and have found out, that everywhere in your scripts you use it something like:
convert [options] some.file another.file
see the difference? I wonder if it depends on IM's version that it's syntax varies so much, but i suppose that's the root of the problem. Btw, what version are you using?
And how could i launch skaramba theme from konsole? just give me an exaple and i could tell you what it says.
Thanx in advance =) - Dec 17 2007

[kraplax@localhost ~]$ convert -resize 50% ./Slax_blue.jpg
convert: missing an image filename `./Slax_blue.jpg'
I've also tried to quote the filename with ' and " but id didn't help.
Also, as it turned out imginfo utility (which i suppose to the part of ImageMagick alongside with that convert one) is also unusable for png and gif files. At least with .jpg it works fine - shows some stats...
What am i to do further to make it work? - Dec 17 2007

I've tried to uninstall it (IM i mean) and nothing helps - all i get is a "transparent" skaramba-widget without even any slightest hint on what is it doing or is to do. Is there any configurations that are to be made in Amarok or SKaramba or my system? Do i need those bloody -devel packages for making this thing usable? - Dec 17 2007
