You are trying to write to the old location, you need to push to here: "bzr push --remember lp:~screenlets-extras-team/universal-applets/universal-applets-extras"

I'll generate new packages as soon as you commit successfully :) - Sep 13 2008

Hi. Why don't you join the 3rd-party-screenlets team ( https://launchpad.net/~3rd-party-screenlets-team ) That way, you can work directly in bzr (after you change something, you run one line in terminal, and it's uploaded). Packages are made, so your users get updates via the package manager.

If this is based of off Whise's work, why don't you send him a patch? It doesn't make sense to have two versions of the same screenlet. - Feb 27 2008

I did like this:

bzr co http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~screenlets-dev/screenlets/trunk

the
bzr update

and
sudo python setup.py install
if there's something new

It all takes some seconds every time there's an update. - Feb 12 2008

Please add your stuff to launchpad. You can set up your own branch and have people get all your updates, and if you feel like it, you can add your stuff to 3rd party screenlets which will hopefully be set up as an install package. See https://code.launchpad.net/~3rd-party-screenlets-team/screenlets/3rd-party-screenlets

You can keep your stuff in a separate branch if you'd like, and then merge whenever you feel like it. I'll add you to the team if you choose to do this.
You can also keep your stuff in the main branch if that's more like your cup of tea.

Oh, and you can still keep the info here, and just keep itin synch with bzr. - Feb 11 2008

http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Python_i18n
http://developer.kde.org/documentation/library/kdeqt/kde3arch/kde-i18n-howto.html

I found that info on how to set up an application for translation was not that easy to find. Maybe you could document what you do, with pointers to the guides you used. I try to translate as many apps as I can, so this information would be spread by me.

Thanks again for you excellent work! - Jan 21 2008

I don't really know much about this, but the translations at least go into the po-directory. See here http://codebrowse.launchpad.net/~awn-testing/awn/awn-core-testing/files/rcryderman%40gmail.com-20080118173625-z0gazlq6omoe3q2b?file_id=po-20070730232002-i01h0e2hlfguxt72-23
for an example.

Next, there likely has to be some other stuff done, but I'm not quite sure how. Maybe you could take to one of the AWN-people or Cyberorg from Compiz Fusion.

From https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoTeamHowto:
"The best way for teams to collaborate on translation is to use Rosetta, a web translation portal. Check out https://launchpad.ubuntu.com/rosetta ]and get in touch with DafyddHarries if you want to setup your language or a new application for translation." - Jan 20 2008

I noticed that there are pot-templates in the code, so I went ahead and translated into Norwegian. Could you please try to put these in as no_NB and no_NO (I never can find out what the difference is, but sometimes one of them is not working right). You could make them as no_NN as well, most "nynorsk"-users will prefer a Norwegian Bokmål version over the English one.

Here are the files:
http://home.no.net/kwaanens/linux/translate/screenlets.po
http://home.no.net/kwaanens/linux/translate/screenlets-manager.po

It would be nice if you could put your branch up for translation in Launchpad too.

Thanks!

Widget Screenlet

Conky by Whise 9 comments

I tried putting in the Last.fm widgets from here: http://www.last.fm/widgets but the window doesn't resize properly, so scroll bars appear.

Any idea why?

Also, it is possible to drag and drop a file to the widget and have it display. Would be really cool if it was possible to drag and drop a source file, and have an option appear to ask me to save this as a widget in ~/.screenlets/Widgetizer/widgets letting me put in the name for it? - Dec 11 2007
Great screenlet! One suggestion:

Avant-window-navigator has an option "Maximised windows don't cover the bar".

This would be a great asset to the sidebar too, making the sidebar visible at all times. Full screen apps should always cover it though.

Using widescreen I seldom use the whole horizontal size anyway - Sep 15 2007
