The new KOffice icons are fantastic! Much better than the old ones- except at smaller sizes. When it's scaled down (like in the menus), they don't look very good anymore. I would suggest using the original KOffice icons (before 1.0 update) for the small sizes, and the new icons for the big sizes. It may not look so consistent, but "mini" icons are pretty cool! - Jan 17 2004

And people- stop arguing about this style! It just imitates XP, there are styles that imitate all sorts of OS'es out there! If you don't like XP, then don't use the style. (That's why I don't use it).
Besides that, I would give it a "good" since it is a very nice imitation (even though I think that the XP style is ugly) - Jan 17 2004

Also on the window decoration- first, make it smaller. I don't like window decorations that are really big, they eat up room on the screen. (Like Windows XP's) I think you should make the buttons change color like Glow, or put a sort of bubble, highlight, etc. around the text. (Like Keramik, MandrakeGalaxy window decoration) - Jan 13 2004

The effects are amazing!! Which graphics program did you use?
I'm looking forward to more wallpapers.
P.S. Maybe you could make this one in
different colors/resolutions. - Dec 15 2003

It's great because:
1. It matches themes like alloy, thinkeramik, plastik, and MandrakeGalaxy
2. It's very easy to configure and customize. (Keep it simple in future releases)
3. It isn't too spartan, but it doesn't have way too many decorations that are distracting.
Just two requests:
Make it so you can disable the blue line in the window decoration. Sometimes it may be good, but sometimes you might not want it. (Depends on colors)
And maybe you could make it so you could adjust the color regardless of the color sceme (E.G. My color sceme makes it dark blue, but I want it to be a lighter shade). But this isn't that important and we could do without this feature.
Otherwise, great work. Keep it up in the next release. - Dec 11 2003

/usr/share/apps/ksplash/pics
The web site needs more helpful directions: E.G. "find the Ksplash directory" - Dec 06 2003

To find the ksplash directory, you need to open up the "Find Files" program and type in Ksplash. In mandrake it the ksplash directory is "/usr/share/apps/ksplash"
You also need to go into the "pics" directory to find the image files. - Dec 06 2003

1.Open up a shell and type in whereis ksplash
2.Go to that folder using Konqueror. You will see three image files and maybe several folders.
3.Copy your zipped splash screen file there, and unzip it there.
4. Create a folder called "Default" and move the 3 image files in the Ksplash folder into the Default folder.
5. Move the 3 images in your splash screen's folder (mandy_evo) to the ksplash folder so there are 3 image files there again.
Enjoy! - Dec 06 2003

The "X" logo that is there if there's no application icon actually looks good. The CDROM, Floppy, and Zip icons don't look terrible, like in most icon sets. Now I actually prefer KDE icons to Gnome ones. Keep up the good work! - Nov 15 2003

The bad is that I can't get the panel to look real- like in the first screenshot! How do you do that?
I'm not going to use this for my default theme (because I dont' like Microsoft, and I think the theme's kind of ugly anyway), but I would like to use it to play pranks! :-) - Nov 14 2003
