Konqueror New Tabs Patch

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by dschrader 19 comments

I think this is a great thing. The fact that Konqueror opens up a blank window has always bugged me. At the least I think it should be able open up the page you are currently on.

Of course these are personal preferences, so dont bash me personally just because you think differently. - Aug 25 2004
Konqueror New Tabs Patch

I like this.
I have a request though: my home URL is ~. If you do this, which I supsect many people do, then upon hitting the home button you are taken to your home directory (or opening a new tab now). (and I dont want to change my home: I use it often)
To get around this, you can save a URL in your webbrowsing profile, or add it to the execute string in the properties... so my point is, I think it would be nice to specify the page the new tab opens to, perhaps with one of those typical kinds of forms, Use Current, Use Home, or a space to type, sort of thing.
Just a thought. - Aug 24 2004

is there any other feature to this than not having a visible icon? The same thing could be achieved it seems by creating a transparent icon and using that. - Aug 10 2004
improving session management

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by natas12 6 comments

that is not really "trickery". Software currently does many things like that already. For example, when you click an icon, your cursor changes into a new icon resembling what you clicked, and moves around (in kde 3.2 anyway). This gives the user the impression that something is indeed happening. Same with the throbber in browsers. You know your page is loading.

This is the exact same reason the mouse is given such a high priority in the kernel, so that users see their mouse react immediately and know the computer is doing something, not just hanging.

I like the concept, especially being able to cancel the session restoration. - Apr 15 2004
