KXStich is really great.

Any plans to develop embroidery software? Linux is sorely missing software for machine embroidery.

It would be great to have a Linux software equivalent of Thred digitizing software http://www.thredworks.com/dwnlod.htm

The source code is there, but I'm not sure what (if any) license it was released under. - Jul 24 2007

Unfortunately autoscaling can not be disabled in moodin.

You should use a 1280x1024 background if possible and let it autoscale.Otherwise you will have to manually tweak the icon size and spacin in the rc.

Also, after changing background resolutions and baseresolution settings, I strongly suggest you clear the moodin cache. - Mar 16 2006
Yes that's correct... It has been added as default splash in the Dapper repos. The KDM theme has also been added as default. - Mar 01 2006
I was having a severe brownout here and had to shut down my computers and router so my last response wasn't exactly complete.

I have noticed the scaling problem as well and contacted moodrod about it. Hopefully future versions of moodin will allow us to disable scaling or fix whatever is causing this issue.

For right now the best solution I can think of would be to uninstall the theme, clear the mooding cache and make the changes I suggest in the readme before installing again.

If you need help with the 1920x1200 background email me at the address in my user info. - Feb 28 2006
chadwick359,

I sorry I don't havea monitor to test at that resolution.

For the scaling problem... have you tried clearing the Moodin cache? it is located at yourhome/.kde/share/apps/ksplash/cache/Moodin

For the background - You can open the svg in gimp and make it whatever size you need then just import the dialog.png - Feb 28 2006
This issue has been solved in v1.5. - Feb 01 2006
In the Theme.rc file edit this line:
ImageOffset8 = -1,155

Change the 155 to 200 or above. You can test it to see what works best for you.

I don't have that good of a monitor, but 200 works for my monitor at 1280x1024 so I expect that yours will need to be a little higher. - Jan 15 2006
Fixed in version 1.4, Thanks for pointing out this issue. - Sep 24 2005
Thanks for the info Moodwrod. - Sep 23 2005
Thanks do you have a link to the whole background, so I can include in the KDM theme too? - Sep 23 2005
I'm glad it works for you, I was concerned about the icon positioning at higher than 1024 resolutions, and since I wasn't able to test it... I didn't want a bunch of people upset that it looked like crap and not be able to fix it. It seems like it should be ok for higher resolutions provided you use a higher res background, but I will test it out today to be sure.

As for the issue of having to rename from Background.jpg to Background.png, I'm not sure what the problem is. The file actually is a PNG that has been renamed to a JPG, but as far as I know Moodin won't display a file named Background.png, so it's weird that you go it working like that. I'm not having any trouble with it named Background.jpg here. - Sep 23 2005
Mmm....That looks very lickable. I was going to make a wallpaper to go with this theme, but I didn't get a chance. I didn't want to put off uploading this any longer because I knew I probably wouldn't ever get around to doing it later.

If it is ok with you, I'l like to include your wallpaper mod in this theme and the KDM theme as well. Just let me know if that's ok with you. - Sep 23 2005
Thanks for the heads up... I just fixed it. - Sep 23 2005

Moodwrod.

My Kubuntu Ultra theme is rather resolution dependent since it matches my KDM theme I would prefer if it wouldn't scale at all. I've tried to include resolution specific backgrounds in my theme so that scaling doesn't occur at common resolutions, but this doesn't seem to prevent the engine from scaling the fonts, background and icons.

It would be nice if there was a way to disable scaling altogether for themes that it doesn't work well with. - Mar 01 2006

I tried compiling PyQt-x11-gpl-3.15.1 so I could use this but I got this... Error: This version of PyQt requires SIP v4.3.0 or later. It looks like kubuntu uses it's own version 4.2.1-1ubuntu4

Has anyone got this working in kubuntu? I'd like to use this tool but I don't want to break anything on my system. - Feb 10 2006

BigKahuna,

I'm glad you like this theme.

I'm not a developer so I'm not sure about your question, but I think that the KDM theme has nothing to do with timing of the sound effects at login. Though, I do agree it would be nice to have control over when the startup sound is initiated.

You might want to post this questionon the developers forums. - Dec 16 2005
Thanks for your comment nbensa. I'm glad this theme has become so popular here on KDE-Look. I don't currently have any plans to make any variants of this theme, but if someone would like to make a variant for another distro they are welcome to do so under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike License. - Nov 07 2005

Nice work cmost.

As long as you mention that this is a derivitive of my theme, you can put your name on the license instead of mine and remove any Kubuntu related instructions. - Sep 20 2005
