For the window borders, you need the emerald theme engine.
To install it, type this into the terminal:
sudo apt-get install emerald
When it is finished installing, open up emerald theme manager and import the two emerald themes.
The hold alt and f2 and type 'emerald --replace'. This will activate the emerald theme engine.
Make sure you are using compiz or else emerald will not work. Emerald requires compositing.
I started developing this theme on the version of ubuntu you have and I did not have any extra sources so this should work for you. I am hoping in the future that I will be able to add an install script that will do all of this for you but I tried to make the install file as straight forward as I could.
If you tried this and you are still having trouble, I will try to see what I can do.

However, the emerald theme needs better buttons for close, minimize, and maximize.
Overall, nice job. - Nov 07 2009
