Great idea! Easy but effective.

But I think silence is right - a complete text field might be a bit too mutch.

What about a small button on the left or right end of each menu bar? You click on it (or hover over) and then a textfield appears. Would make the thing "invisible" if you don't need it but right there if you want it. - Sep 07 2007

The tab-design and buttons where used from konsole - so the praise belongs to the designers from konsole ^^

You are right - the "?" button was somewhat silly. I replaced it by a "c" (configuration) button. Think it's a lot more intuitive. - Aug 28 2007
