I would like to use your theme - really like it. But there is one little problem: notifications don't render correctly. The bar is shifted too far on the bottom (get's cut) and the notification popup is a small, long square without text.
That seems to be a problem with most shell themes I tried. - Jan 23 2013

Problem: It does not work when using Hot new Stuff. There only the "wallpapers"-folder gets installed.
It would be nice to be able to install/update your theme via systemsettings.

Sry, but that content is not really creative... Your last commits are absolutely identical. Just create a webview and set a KUrl. The only difference is the URL set.
There is something beutiful called "configuration". If you think you need to post a plasmoid that only shows a webpage (one could easily achieve this by adding the "webbrowser"-Plasmoid), you could offer a config option to choose which of these should be displayed.
That would appear less spammy... - Apr 09 2010

Please could you just update the Applet, when data was fetched successfully.
We have problems here with the reliability of the connection. So it happens quite often that we get disconnected for several minutes.

You now show a nice spinner, when data is being fetched. If fetch fails, the spinner stays until data was fetched successfully again. This is not an "Exception safe" design ;)

So please don't change the view during fetching ;)
If I can help i could have a look at it and propose a patch! - Jan 29 2010
Hi.
Could it be possible to add a link, that points to the weather providers Homepage with detailed informations about my city?
This would be interesting, as the information is more detailed, and there is information about e.g. storm warnings.

Of course i could navigate there on my own, but it really would simplify things!

Thx for this plasmoid

Sry for this, but...
The ChangeLog is for showing the changes since the last release. You update your qt-apps-entry everytime you do a svn commit - that's spam! And just for showing the _commit-log_? If people were interested in that, they could just do "svn log" to see the changes.

I kept calm some time now, but seeing Antico every day on the first page (mostly the first entry...), I really need to say this.

There are other Apps, that get developed using svn/git/... and they don't push their app on the first page by publishing their commit log.
Things like
* add Filedialog Icon/List view.
* Deskfolder/file/app selection with rubberband for deletion.
* etc.
are nice to have, but no reason for an instant update after commit...

So please stop pushing Antico every day with this detailed commitlog

If you really want to post the cvhanges here, you can (AFAIK) uncheck an option like "mark entry as updated".

So thx for antico and your efforts,

Is it possible to add keyborad shortcuts?
One thing i really miss is the [Alt + F2] for the run cmd.
I don't like the behaviour of the built-in runner, that comes with antico.
You have to click twice to get the entry in the menu, then move the mouse to the middle of the screen again to be able to run a command.

I also would like to add shortcuts for e.g. konsole and other apps i launch really often.

Thx

What about writing a DataEngine?
I see so many similar Plasmoids here around, and all write their own Data-Handling without a DataEngine. Plasma is designed to seperate Datahandling and viewing.

So probably someone wants to write a complete MailCheckerDataEngine, with good luck this will take its way to kdebase ;) - Mar 26 2009

It's not a dev-package you are missing. You are using <qt-4.5. This version did not provide the function
QList::append(QList<T>)
This came with qt-4.5.0.

The easiest thing would be to replace append() with operator<<, as this also provides appending a "QList<T>" instead of only a "T". - Mar 23 2009

Thx!
As it is not possible to use qmmp from build-dir (one hast to install it, so the plugins can be found) I had to wait for time to port qmmp-ebuild to use svn...

But now everything runs fine!

Only 1 suggestion:
I use fluxbox ATM, and there is one seperate task for each qmmp-window (player - playlist - equalizer). Is it possible to only show 1 Taskitem, as e.g. xmms does?

Franz - Jan 24 2009
since a newer version (don't know which) ffmpeg can play ape files (Monkey's audio).
So qmmp (and any other player/media framework using ffmpeg) can play these files.

It would be really nice, if i could chose those files (or just reset the the filetype filter).

I have the same problem with active deko textcolor being always white and so unreadable with light colorschemes.
That occured when the protocol changed (according to the svn log).

Another effect of the changes is that window border isn't rendering correctly anymore. It consists of several squares, some are even white. But this seems to be only true fot qt4-apps, when the deco aligns to the window colors. - Nov 20 2008
You don't need to install kde4, Qt4 is all you need.
If you want to use this with your gtk-apps just install gtk-qt [1], which got an update to Qt4.

Look at the comments above, same problem. Go to bespin.cpp line 133 and add a 0 at the end of the #ifdef, so that the number looks like 0x040400.
Seems as thomas still forgot 1 line to fix :D

So anything should go fine.
The compiler always tells you the line the error occured. Look at the lines before, you will find this line:
#if QT_VERSION >= 0x04040
change it to
#if QT_VERSION >= 0x40400
In your case this would be at:
bespin.cpp l.133
bespin.cpp l.213
If the error still occurs, you
* insert the wrong value
* didn't save the file or
* edited the wrong file (probably in another dir where you didn't compile. - Mar 05 2008
just try this simple app:

////////// snip /////////

#include <iostream>
#include <QCoreApplication>

int main(int argc, char** argv)
{
std::cout << std::hex <<QT_VERSION << std::endl;
return 0;
}

////////// snap /////////

save it in a seperate folder as (e.g.) main.cpp
run
$ qmake -project
$ qmake
$ make
now execute (also in console) the app.

The output is your qt-version in hex. If it is >= 40400, something is weird :) - Mar 05 2008
Ah, could it be u are still using the tech preview from some months ago?
Because as i remember these Primitives were introduced after that.

If you use Qt >= 4.4, try upgrading to the current beta (26th feb.), this could solve your problem. - Mar 05 2008
I've just tried a simple app. Seems the wrong version is mentioned.

try to find any line
#if QT_VERSION >= 0x04040

Hope that helps.

(Problem is the same as above, that thomas forgot to ask if really Qt-4.4 is used, as this versions introduces some new PrimitiveElements.)

Bespin is not only a kde4-style, it is qt4. So you can keep bespin if you want and use it for (e.g.) psi-0.11! - Mar 05 2008
OK, the memoryleek seems to be caused by the config-binary being called bespin. There were several bespin-instances started when chosing bespin as the style (So much i couldnt count them anymore in top ;)). I renamed it to bespin-bin and anything goes fine now.

Is that just a (temporary) problem with my qt-4.4 snapshot (from today)?
Anyone who can confirm this?

hi,

i get segfaults with qt-4.4_pre in drawPrimitive().. reason is that there are some new values in QStyle::PrimitiveElement.
you can fix this by setting N_PE from 50 to 54 in bespin.cpp.

The other point: I think the toolbars are too big, they have big space around the toolbuttons. Also the toolbuttons are a little bit too large.

Besides these 2 points the style looks really impressive! Especially the configurability is ... WOW :)

This "plasmoid" uses a dbus-call. The reciever is only available if it's registered. And when does it register? When you start kwin...

So no Kill without kwin running.
But you can try to replace the dbus-call by "/usr/bin/xkill", and hope this works ;) - Jun 20 2008
xkill does the same. When you use kde you even don't need xkill, kde does it on its own.

Just press [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Esc] and you get the "x"-pointer. klick on a window and kill it. Much faster then minimizing all windows, klicking plasmoid, killing.

Hint: Press [Esc] to get the x away again, if you don't want to kill anything ;) - Jun 14 2008

* animating the icon when new mail arrived.
* With Phonon in the back you could play a small sound (Can this be done via KNotify?).
* You could remove the label under the icon. Draw the number of mails onto the icon (as kmail-systray does). As long as the applet isn't configured draw a warning-symbol (or something like that).
* Click on the icon opens ${DEFAULT_MAILCLIENT}

Hi,

Since i installed your style with KDE-4 I really like it very much! Especially now with the KWin4-Deco, which just looks nice (I'm excited of future development...)!

But i also noticed 2 Problems:

1) When I start gimp i can't see the splash-image. It just flickers for a millisecond and disappears. With other styles this works.

2) I have KDE4 installed, so the style get's built for kde4. Now when i run a kde3-session, I can't chose QtCurve for Qt4-apps. But i really would like to :(

And 1 wish:
If you have time you probably could also ship a KWin3-Deco, as my main-account still runs with kde3 :)

Just again - great work! Keep on with this :)
