I know it is quite confusing sometimes, and a lot like learning a language by being dropped off in a foreign country and told "you'll figure it out" over a bullhorn as the helicopter flies away. You can comment out and index the files if you wish to take the time to do that. I've started doing that with cinnamon files because they have grown to over 3600 lines of code. Who knows, other people might appreciate your effort. It takes time and a lot of trial and error. Go to the forums or IRC and ask if there is something you can't figure out.
