Thank you a bunch. When you come to switzerland a very large drink is waiting for you:) - Jul 25 2009
I added it as well as the kdm theme and the wallpaper to my laptop.

The splash (KDE loading screen) does not show on my 13.1 inch screen.
Any way to get that scaled?

That would the icing on the cake :) - Jul 25 2009

Okay with boost-build and libakonadi-dev it install without error but I cannot find it in the widgets panel.

"Build files have been written to: /home/fintan2/Downloads/KDE4/plasmoid-eventlist-0.1/build

Okay with risk of sounding stupid:

How do I get it onto the add widget panel? - Jul 23 2009
Thank you :)

There is no:
libakonadidev

and I only have boost-build and libboost1.35-dev.

I'll try with those and see what happens ;)

Thank you so much for the patience with an ignorant:)

To recap the installation for HH kde4.1:

The following packages are needed:

Quote:
libkonq5-dev, libkonq5, cmake, libplasma-dev, kdelibs5-dev, kdebase-dev-kde4 as well as gcc, gcc-3.3base, and g++

unpack the downloaded plasmoid to a folder and run in a terminal from the folder:

Quote:
# mkdir build
# cd build
# cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`kde4-config --prefix` ..
# make
# sudo make install

restart kde4.1 - Aug 06 2008
Thank you for your patience mherbert:)

I did that:
Quote:
Try to run:
Quote:

# mkdir build
# cd build
# cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`kde4-config --prefix` ..

I got as far as above:

I also tried with the .deb package from:
http://www.amarok2deb.co.cc/debian/dists/unstable/main/binary-i386/plasmoid-quickaccess_0.6.1-1_i386.deb

that works in intrepid but not with HH.

How did you get it installed on HH kde4.1?

It works in Kubuntu intrepid alpha3 but not on any of my HH's (remix upgraded to 4.1 or HH kde3/kde4.1)

I would very much appreciate a solution:)

"Well it can be that Kubuntu and Debian have different directories where they install KDE4, that means that on Kubuntu Plasma can't find quickaccess, because this package was made for Debian..."

Okay, that makes sense.

On kubuntu Hardy kde4.1 installs to:
/usr/lib/kde4.

Where does debian, respectively the plasmoid iinstall to, and how do I get kubuntu to read / see it?

That would be a great help for all my friends on the kubuntu forum:)

Thank you again:) - Aug 04 2008

http://www.amarok2deb.co.cc/debian/dists/unstable/main/binary-i386/plasmoid-quickaccess_0.6.1-1_i386.deb

and installed gdebi.

Installed fine but can't find it in the add widget window.

I love it very much. Good work. Unfortunately I have a different backgrond consistent from boot to desktop on my Kubuntu.
I edited the file and replaced the background with mine and added it manually to kdm.

It works fine until I do a logout (or ctl+alt+backspace) and log back in again (changing from kde4 to kde3).
When I log out it "takes" a part of the desktop (kde4 pr kde3) with it and projects into the kdm theme.

Any ideas would be helpfull, thankx. - Mar 06 2008

I have tried to install this on Kubuntu gutsy/kde4 but following your instructions first gives me this:

fintan@fintanws2:~/Eyecandy/KDE4/Mailnotifyer/emailnotify/build$

In Kubuntu GG when I activate the composite effects the panel shrinks horizontally on both ends, but the widgets stay put so they "stick" out of the sides.
