One of these launchers is chromium browser and I have noticed that if I launch an app (such as thunderbird or digikam), I am unable to launch chromium until that app is fully running.
Only seems to affect chromium as far as I can tell. - Oct 29 2011

I generally have just kmenu with the pinned launchers (Windows 7 style) and it does look odd that the menu icons is quite a bit bigger than the other icons or when I fiddle the panel height, the menu is sometimes smaller than the launchers

I can confirm it works wonderfully and now included new mail count for Thunderbird and as far as I'm concerned this app is now *almost* perfect.
I say almost because the new mail count doesn't show well with my plasma theme (oxygen).
On the default air theme, the mail count shows as dark text on a light square but when using oxygen (dark theme) it shows white text on light square.
Anything I can do personally about that? - Sep 26 2011

Installed the previous version with checkinstall so removed it before trying this new version.
Compiled without errors and appears as normal in the "add widgets" popup but once added to the panel, it is just a red cross and the mouse-over popup says "unknown widget" - Sep 26 2011

So downloaded and built the source. again and sure enough, the media controls ARE working perfectly.
Man, this thing just keeps getting better :D
This app has now made up my mind once and for all to stick with KDE for the next ubuntu cycle at least :) - Sep 21 2011

I have tested a few other themes and it does indeed vary in visibility, with one or two themes you cannot actually tell they are running at all, though that is obviously not your fault but indicators would help :)
On another note, I notice one of the screenshots show amarok with play/skip controls in the tooltip.
How do I get that to work? - Sep 21 2011

I have been waiting for something like this for KDE.
I just hope it will be added to KDE at some point or at least be deb packaged :)
I do have one small criticism though:
It isn't always clear when non-focused/minimized apps are running.
This may depend on the plasma theme (I use oxygen) but I see a slight box around the icon, it could do with being coloured or something for all running apps maybe?
But regardless, great work :) - Sep 21 2011

The trouble is, all my gtk apps take on the oxygen look but are still using the gnome default icons.
If I switch to oxygen-molecule or qtcurve then the same gtk apps then take on the oxygen icons, switching back to oxygen-gtk brings back gtk icons :( - Mar 23 2011

I can't drag the tar anywhere, I can't find anywhere to put the folder where it shows in desktop theme settings.
I have also tried installing via "get new themes" and searching for it but it never shows up as a desktop theme once installed. - Dec 28 2010

Thumbnails and launcher labels randomly appear at the top of the screen instead of above the taskbar.
Sometimes they DO appear in the right place but 8 times out of 10 they don't.
The window peek/highlight feature is hit and miss, sometimes it will highlight the window, other times it will highlight them after a long delay and other times doesn't highlight at all.
Also, the little snippet you added about removing the reflections doesn't seem to work.
I have been back and looked at the rc file and the entry is still there and still says false but reflections are still there. - Sep 01 2010

Sorry if I'm missing something.
When I saw it on the front page I was hoping this was going to be a dockbarx for kde.
The taskbar really needs app pinning, it's such a waste of space if you also use launchers to have each icon on there twice when running. - Aug 25 2010

Dunno why, just looks a bit ugly but I can't figure exactly where to disable it.
I have commented out some of the lines that seem related but the theme won't load after altering anything. - Aug 25 2010

It was version 0.2.0 I used.
Since I had no problems restoring from my backup, I tried running KleanSweep again.
This time I set it to only scan for broken shortcuts and empty files and there were no problems.
I tried it again just scanning for orphan rpm files and once again it deleted almost every file in the /etc directory before I stopped it and they still weren't listed in the scan results.
So you thought right about that being the problem and all the files like xorg.conf, etc were archived in the backup.
I chose to scan for the orphan rpm's the first time round because I have used alien to convert quite a few rpm's so I though it would maybe get rid of any junk left behind by them. I just didn't think it would be a problem.
I have also now tried KleanSweep on Fedora Core 4 and had no problems there.
Once again I feel I must grovel and apologise for my other post. Like I said, I was just venting off but it must be disheartening to spend time working on a program and give it away for free only to get that sort of comment.
I feel very ashamed. - Nov 03 2005

I don't know what other info to give but I'll try.
Installed no problems, I already had scons installed.
I ran it as sudo on ubuntu breezy. Checked to scan only for orphaned files, empty files and broken shortcuts. It came back with about 875 MB's of results which I went through and marked anything I knew was junk, anything I wasn't sure about I left unchecked.
As I said, things like xorg.conf and all the other important files weren't listed in the results so I just don't understand why it would touch anything else. Or are you only suppesed to check things you DON'T want deleted?
I must admit I did regret my last post and the fact that this program has a rating of 85% clearly shows that this isn't a virus or anything of the sort. I was just very upset and needed to vent off. Sorry. - Nov 03 2005

System Software by yogin 134 comments
In fact the only files that were left were junk and old backup files that this app is supposed to remove.
I wouldn't say I'm an advanced user but I'm not stupid enough to mark files like xorg.conf for deletion. None of these important files were listed in the results of the scan and anything that I wasn't sure of I left unchecked.
If I hadn't cancelled KleanSweep when I noticed what files it was deleting it would no doubt have wiped my entire system, which it may as well have anyway.
Thank god I backed up the system before running this shit.
This is the ultimate virus. - Nov 02 2005
