I think you just have to replace:
local target = openSub.file.dir..subfileName
with:
local target = subfileName

...at line 1512.

Of course the font is not the problem, I said utf8 is text encoding, not font. From the log I see the path sent to Vlc is correct (if you paste the adress after "Adding subtitle" in your browser you should get the file). But for some reason Vlc doesn't interpret it as an url adress but a file name, that made me think that's an encoding problem. Some people confirm that it works with vlc 2.2 on linux but I didn't test it myself, so I can't help you at this point, sorry. - May 01 2014

If so, make sure your file is utf8 encoded, you can just drag and drop the file from zip to erase the other. - May 01 2014

That doesn't work because the watch later playlist is availbale only for you when you are logged in with your internet browser. This script doesn' do the authentifiaction process so youtube won't let it see this playlist. So it is possible but I don't have enough time or energie to do it now. Sorry. Yes, jb re enabled the net module but it's no good because a function of this module was also desactivated, this time for windows only. I saw on github they're working on it but I don't know if it will be fix on the next release.

Yes, VLSub won't work in Vlc 2.1.0 on any platform because the lua "net" module has been removed in this release for the extensions. I open a ticket to ask the videolan team to re-enabled it.
I'll keep you posted.

I didn't say it didn't work over network, I say that afaik it works with a drive network. You just have to create a shorcut identified by a letter to you folder //media. Here is the procedure for xp:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308582
here for 7:
http://windows.microsoft.com/is-is/windows7/create-a-shortcut-to-map-a-network-drive

If you say it worked without drive letter on 0.9.1 that's weird because I have no idea how. I'll try to look into it, but I haven't not much time left lately. - Sep 18 2013

Hi,

If I'm not mistaken your video is on a network directory 'media'. You have to mount this directory as a network drive then start the video from this drive. From the command prompt it should be like this:
Quote:
net use G: \\media
"%ProgramFiles%\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe G:\path\to\video.avi"

Once the video start, try to download again. - Sep 18 2013

Hello,

I think you have this error because the extension doesn't get any response from the serveur. So check your firewall and antivirus configuration (a guy reported it works after turning avast antivirus off).Other possibility, servers where down when you tried.
Note to myself: I definitvely have to set a message when this case append rather than having a silent error.

Ok, this time it tested it more thoroughly on different platforms with different configurations.
FYI I use a Vlc variable named "sub-autodetect-path" to store the path to the configuration file, that you can also set with the Vlc config panel mode advanced in Video > Subtitles (last menu on the left). - Sep 01 2013

Hello
Vlc doesn't find any .lua file in your extensions folders:
C:\Users\mon\AppData\Roaming\vlc\lua\extensions
D:\lua\extensions

You have to put the file in one of those. If you have already, check that the file has the right extension ".lua" (not ".txt"). - Sep 01 2013

The path should be on one line only, (I set something to long so the web page jump a line automatically). Basically you ignore everything that start with "-- " (that's commentary) and you replace
local conf_file_path = nil
with any path you want, for example:
local conf_file_path = "C:\\a_folder\\vlsub" - Aug 30 2013
VLSub

VLC Extensions by exebetche 816 comments

It should look like this:

Quote:
mess_err_conf_access ='Can\'t fount a suitable path to save config, please set it manually'
}
}

-- You can set the config file's directory path here
-- else the default vlc.config.userdatadir() is used
-- /!\ On windows no accentuated/special characters allowed /!\
-- ex:
-- local conf_file_path = "C:\\Documents and Settings\\vlsub"
local conf_file_path = "C:\\Documents and Settings\\a_directory\\an_other_if_you_want"

local languages = {
{'alb', 'Albanian'},

First, I would like you to give me your debug log, just to get the actual error message.

To set the path manually you have to edit the script with a text editor. You have to set the variable "conf_file_path". You ll find it at the beginning of the script after the licence and the long list of options. You can set any folder you want as long it doesn't contain non english character. Also don't forget to use double anti slash, like in the given example. - Aug 30 2013

There is no error in your debug log, so I think the file isn't at the right place. Check if you have something in :
C:\Users\Jerry\AppData\Roaming\vlc\lua\extensions
C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\extensions

How did you install it, manually or with the installer? Because someone report a problem with the installer and I updated it it yesterday so maybe you could give it an other try. - Aug 25 2013

The link I give you is not my script, it's from the VideoLAN team. This extension just manage playlists not the videos, so you have to get both youtube_playlist.lua AND youtube.lua uptodate to read a playlist. Anyway I add the link in case someone else have this problem. - Aug 25 2013
