you unzip it and place it in ~/.themes. If it doesn't exist, create the .themes folder. Then open appearance > select Unity 7 - Jul 25 2019

in the Royale theme, open the metacity-1 directory and rename the metacity-3.xml file to metacity-2.xml.

If it still doesn't work, click on the 'customize' on the bottom right and in the 'controls' tab, select the Royale GTK 3 theme from the list - Apr 05 2019
ok, so when you download the file, extract it and place it in ~/.themes. Then, open the control center, click look and feel in the sidebar and select 'appearance'. Then, in the window that pops up, you can select Windows XP from the list. - Apr 05 2019
try renaming metacity-1/metacity-3.xml to try renaming metacity-1/metacity-2.xml. If it still doesn't work, in the theme window click the 'customize' button on bottom right. Then you can select it from the list - Apr 05 2019

XP themes need a metacity refresh. I have a working template but need to apply it to the XP theme structure. The instigator of the longhorn part of the project is focusing on more important things for the moment and I'm busy with our dev stack.

B00merang Dark is fixed but I'll wait a bit for release since there were little problems with the build process - Apr 15 2019

Pretty shure you haven't changed the xfwm theme. In settings > window manager > themes - Aug 08 2019

migrating wasn't that hard since I basically cloned Blackout, changed some colors and some controls and called it a day. Hopefully I find a better packaging solution though, bundling a simplified Azurra package in src isn't that great - Aug 08 2019

you download and extract to ~/.themes, then open appearance settings and select the theme from the list.

Note: there's no Xfwm theme yet, but you can use Windows 10's one, it shouldn't look too much out of place - Jan 16 2019
