Try deleting these lines from the script:

use strict;
use warnings; - Oct 19 2004
Please check if Perl scripts run fine.. You can do that by executing them in a terminal (they're installed in $KDEPATH/share/apps/komics). If a script shows an error message, you found the trouble :) - Oct 17 2004
Try substituting the line 406

criteria->setText( 2, (dayName <= 0 ? "*" : QDate::longDayName(dayName) ) );

criteria->setText( 2, (dayName <= 0 ? QString("*") : QDate::longDayName(dayName) ) );

What GCC version do you use? What linux distribution? - Sep 02 2004
Ops.. before that, first try to launch in the komics/ directory the command

make -f Makefile.cvs

and then "./configure ..." - Aug 05 2004
Some people using Fedora reported this problem... please try to upgrade/downgrade your autoconf/automake packages; versions I have on my system are:

autoconf 2.57
automake 1.7.7
libtool 1.4.3
m4 1.4
make 3.80

If someone makes an RPM package I will upload it, of course :-) - Aug 05 2004
Try to add these lines on top of src/komics.cpp

#ifndef VERSION
#define VERSION 1.1

(Maybe you Make version is outdated) - Feb 24 2004
Purtroppo non conosco neanche io molti fumetti in italiano, se me li segnalate (in other languages, too) io li aggiungo subito.

- Feb 23 2004
Try to launch the applet by the command line:

dcop --all-sessions --user $USER kicker Panel addApplet $KDEDIR/share/apps/kicker/applets/komics.desktop - Feb 02 2004
Why do you think your opinion counts five times other one's vote? Now that I fixed this behaviour, you will give me +5 points?

I think the voting system should limit the user to vote only one time for each release... - Feb 02 2004
You can try to copy komics.desktop from the source package in $KDEDIR/share/apps/kicker/applets, and you should check that you find some file named libkomics.* in $KDEDIR/lib .

Are you using KDE 3.1.x ? And what Linux distribution? - Dec 01 2003
Did you got any installation/compilation error, or the applet is installed but don't listed in available applets? - Dec 01 2003
The scripts I wrote are installed in $KDEDIR/share/apps/komics/ and are in the src/scripts directory of the source package :) - Dec 01 2003
Please can you try to create by hand that directory? - Nov 25 2003
I forgot instructions on how install perl modules for perl scripts included... I added them in the docs. - Nov 24 2003

Mumble... can you launch konqueror by terminal and send me the output? - Nov 22 2003
Please, can you try to manually create an empty ~/.kde/share/apps/kontextbar/sidebars.xml file? - Nov 17 2003
Gentoo's gcc is particulary exacting (grrr :P). I uploaded a fixed version (also was fixed) - Nov 03 2003
Thank you! - Oct 16 2003
The files "setupdialogview.h" and "setupdialogview.cpp" should be automatically generated at compile time by uic (User Interface Compiler). Maybe you have a version of QtDesigner < 3.2 . I updated the package (adding setupdialogview.cpp and .h generated by me), please download this one. - Oct 13 2003
I think that KontextBar can be also useful for users... to change sidebar, they don't have to modify the source code and recompile/reinstall, and they can use the simple python language. - Oct 05 2003
Please can you run konqueror in a terminal and show us the output? And also, post the xml file you used :) - Oct 01 2003
Sorry, there was a big black-out here in Italy and the server is down. Please re-try toworrow :-P - Sep 28 2003
To override the default you can fill a xml config file with

<directory recursive="1">/</directory>

Bye - Sep 28 2003
You only need a standard python installation, so you should have somewhere Python.h (you can try "find /usr -name Python.h" :-)

On Slackware this header is located in

supposing that the location for Mandrake is the same, you can try:

./configure --with-pythondir=/usr/include/python2.3

hope this helps - Sep 27 2003
People, what about flash menus? There isn't any brave animation developer ? :-) - Sep 27 2003
Sorry, I fixed it :) - Sep 22 2003
Sorry, links don't work for now, I'm working on them. (However, you will have to modify links in sidebar.html) - Sep 21 2003
Thank you :)

1. If you want to show file.html for various directories, you need only a copy of file.html (for example in ~/.sidebar/file.html) and only a .xml file in .kde/.../kontextbar in which you list all directories.

2. I will implement default page overriding through ~/.sidebar/default.html

3. Yes you can :) - Sep 21 2003
Sorry, but I think that KontextBar is something different from Konquisidebar, because it's a "sidebar container" and not a sidebar itself (like TuxBar is a theme for Superkaramba). I hope that many people will write and share html sidebars to run them under KontextBar :-) - Sep 21 2003

I saw KSidebar, and I notified that you used the KontextBar DCOP trick for link opening (e.g. in View::clicked() ). I think you should put a reference/link somewhere to my program, because I spent a full day to make that trick work. - Sep 26 2003

On Slackware 9.0rc1, I got:

/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-slackware-linux/3.2.2/../../../../i386-slackware-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lpython2.2

I did so:

# cd /usr/lib
# ln -s /usr/lib/python2.2/config/libpython2.2.a

and succefully compiled :)

(you can safely remove the symlink after compilation) - Apr 20 2003
