It looks like a flat 8 bit icon. Plus the colors just dont fit well with the taskbar or desktop. I think the original firefox icon looks more tangoized than this. - Mar 22 2006

The title bar should be more porportional to the text. I noticed in xp that the default title bar is a bit thicker perhaps we can move in that direction. Gnome's default font size is currently perfect. - Mar 19 2006

I think the unfocused window looks weird. The black line below the title bar doesnt look right. What if you lightend it up or what happens if you not draw it. - Dec 18 2005

yeah use black. The problem really shows up when screen shots scaled down. It looks like a jagged edge even when not scaled. BTW, the unfocused frames border color is all a lighter grey. I figured the focused window would have the same characteristics.

I found a problem.. basically theres a color mismatch giving the apperance that the title window is a bit smaller than the rest of the window.

How about having the menu bar rounded as well, except when maximized?

Also on the menu bar shadows and highlights need to darked more so the menu bar is more expressed.

Probably shrink menu bar height a couple of pixels so windows dont look top heavy.

I noticed that in the several versions this theme had a pinkish tint... is this a feature or bug? - Jun 08 2005

Great theme. I love it. I wish it to be Redhats default theme.

But with a couple issues below:

I found a bug in bevel_maximized has a brighter highlight than the bevel highlight. Or it could be the other way around.

I actually prefer the highlight in the bevel_maximized however because its more visible. It looks good and familiar to the Indubustrials/Industrial/Human/Glider highlight which are all awesome and many like.

Another issue I noticed is that to the top-right of the window, at around title_height+4 where the vertical gradient ends, when a focused window is against a dark background you notice a sharp cut off. Like missing pixels but its all there, its just too dark. It bleeds into the background. Solution would to remove the shadow/midtone right there. The right black vertical line is good enough.

It was derived from the Indubstrial theme which was derived from the Novel Industrial theme.

I did some changes to the restore, minimize, maximize, and close buttons. I also changed the way the window looks when its maximized.

I also fixed a few glitches, missing pixels, missing lines, redundant black pixels and other more.

I believe that Smooth GNOME is a dervitive of the original novell industrial theme. You can find it named Glider on Gnome 2.8. I'd guess this because they look exactly the same.
