The menu looks nice but as you can see it's pretty nonsense.
About the Panel: Like somebody already said, it would be realizable using gDesklets, the only "hefty" things would be the tasks and the pager. gDesklets applets usually use the Gnome Controls which have the disatvantage of not being transparent. But even this could be changed using Xorg. - Nov 23 2005

I'm administrating some stuff @ the gDesklets project and would like to say sth. about this.
First of all, in general it's a good idea. The problem is: gDesklets soon will have a new site which will contain Desklets made for gDesklets. Authors will be able to post their desklets there. So, if you create a Desklets section on gnome-look.org, you will split up the Desklet-content, what means, that users will have to check both, the official gdesklets site and gnome-look. Do you think this is good? Imho everything should be centralized.

The only problem is, that it's a fixed picture what means, that it won't get resized when resizing the window. On the screenshot it looks good, because the window width fits to the bg-picture. If you'd resize it, it would look like crap. I would also be interessted in a solution for this, when I started working on that theme it wasn't possible to do such gradients on metacity/gtk. - Dec 17 2004

(for non-german people: tote frauen = dead women)
