And if you're gonna build a deb and offer it for download at least learn how to build it properly instead of using checkinstall. Checkinstall is ONLY meant for building and installing on your own system dumbass. - Jan 04 2009

@ vamox:
I'm on a desktop PC running Debian so I don't use suspend or resume so I just renamed /scalable/apps/gnome-session-halt to gnome-shutdown and /scalable/apps/gnome-session-logout to gnome-logout. That made the applets appear with the right icon. - Dec 19 2008

I've placed your icon theme in /usr/share/icons but for some reason the logout and shutdown applets don't work or don't work as they should. The red shutdown applet isn't displayed at all, it's replaced by the stock gnome shutdown applet and the logout applet wich is supposed to be a green applet? is replaced by the red shutdown applet. Any ideas how to fix this? - Dec 17 2008

You people are really thick you know that. If he didn't get permission from the copyright holder to modify/distribute it it CANNOT BE LEGALLY RELEASED UNDER THE GPL. He simply shouldn't have released it under the GPL because it doesn't cover stuff like this. Is it really that hard to understand you morons?

As for my avatar, no I didn't create it and I also don't own the copyright. But I'm not making it available for download claiming it's covered by the GPL. - Jul 20 2008

It seems you are missing the point. If you didn't get permission from the copyright holder you CANNOT LEGALLY RELEASE IT UNDER THE GPL, it's as simple as that. The GPL does not cover stuff like this. You should have said; license:none or don't know. - Jul 18 2008

I wonder if you and the original creator have written permission from Elisha Cuthbert (or whoever the copyright holder is) to use her picture for a wallpaper. If that's not the case this is a case of copyright infringement wich means you cannot legally release it under the GPL. - Jul 17 2008

I like the subtlety of the wooden background, it's visible but no so much that it becomes a wooden theme, well done. I also changed some colours. I changed the text colour to #E2B889 and the highlight colour to #955F45. - May 15 2008

No, it's very simple. People in the foss community are always talking about freedom this and freedom that and how we should worship the GPL. If you really want to be free this stupid copying has to stop. You can't just copy proprietary icons and put them up here saying they're released under the GPL, it simply doesn't work that way. If you want companies/organizations to respect the GPL you have to in turn respect their copyright. And if you're looking for a beautiful icon theme, here's one. It's a clean, well designed, original theme. http://www.silvestre.com.ar/?p=108 - May 02 2008

Impressive piece of work Rob. I especially like the sense of depth you created with the menu tabs, don't think anyone has ever done that before. That said, I still like slickness black the most. To me it's the cleanest and most useable theme ever. - Apr 22 2008

Well, I do have one suggestion. The Gnome main menubar now has white highlighting for applications, locations and system. Maybe something with the same shade of blue would be better for the sake of consistency. - Feb 07 2008

There's one small thing i noticed with this new update, inactive fonts on the main nautilus toolbar now have a shadow again. Is that a side effect of improving something else? Apart from that, I still think it's the best dark theme ever. - Jan 25 2008

Just because a user asked you to remove the space between the metacity buttons doesn't mean you have to do it. You're the author of your theme and ultimately you are the one who decides. You don't have to cater to one user. - Jan 23 2008

I absolutely love this theme apart from a few minor things. The blue you used for highlighting doesn't match the blues you used for the scroll/progress bars, it's seems too bright in comparison and it really stands out. Another thing I noticed is that there is no visible color difference between the desktop switchers when I have multiple windows open on 2 or 3 desktops. - Jan 12 2008

I'm sick and tired of people making Ubuntu specific stuff (not because I'm a Debian user). I see alot of nice stuff but always with the freakin' Ubuntu logo. Why not make something everyone can enjoy regardless of the distro he/she uses. Stop the goddamn Ubuntu fanboyism, it's getting real old! - Dec 27 2007

I just noticed something, when using the firefox download manager there is nothing visible because the letters are white against a white background. There are also lightblue bars in thunderbird wich makes the white text very hard to read, can you fix this? - Dec 27 2007
