These cute penguins remind me of the Care Bears. These "Care" Penguins also have their specific characteristics and features. Anyway, I love it... - Sep 28 2004

Exactly what I was thinking. Yet another great app... Seems I'm not the only one that likes the CLI2GUI/wizard approach ;-). It makes my life a lot easier for everyday work. - Jun 21 2004

Hi, great application. I just finished writing some letters in Kile this morning and was wondering whether there wasn't an easier way. This would really be a useful plugin for Kile. Do you have any plans in that direction? Thanks anyway: writing letters in LaTeX will never be the same again... - Jun 21 2004

I just want to say thank you. This is a great app. I use it regurarly to store my Bibtex references for making reports in Kile and to keep track of my book/cd collection.

Keep up the good work... - Jan 26 2004

Hello,

One of the reasons for me to acquire a CD/DVD-rewriter, was to backup my data easily. AFAIK, directory contents are not updated when you reload a project. Therefore, a feature I would really like to see in k3b, is that you can create some kind of "burning profiles".

Such a profile should contain the directories that you would like to burn and the directories, files and/or patterns to exclude. This would mean that you could just select a profile for burning directories such as home, music, etc and exclude subdirectories such as Trash, cache, tmp-hostname with the current (updated) contents automatically... - Jan 25 2004

Hi,

Sorry, I suscribed to the k3b userlist on Sourceforge. That should be the appropriate place for my question. - Jan 25 2004

Thanks for this great application. I use k3b frequently to burn backup CDs and rip my classical CD collection. The compilation of 0.11 was a breeze, and I enjoy being welcomed by a brand new exquisite theme.

I hope this is not the wrong place to ask, otherwise, I would really like to know where to ask for help with the following problem.

Since the introduction of the dvd+rw tools I have not been able to write/read any DVD-RW media. There are no error messages, but after the burning process nothing seems to have happened. According to k3b the DVD is still empty.

Mounting the DVD with the DVD-writer or my friends DVD-player yields the error message:
---------------------------------------
Could not mount device.
The reported error was:
/dev/sr0: Invalid argument
mount: I could not determine the filesystem type, and none was specified
---------------------------------------

I don't know if growisofs actually writes anything to the DVD. K3B, and my system, think the disk is still empty:
---------------------------------------
Disk is empty
Media
Type: DVD-RW
Size: 510:38:38 4,4GB
Remaining: 510:38:38 4,4GB
Rewritable: yes
Appendable: no
Empty: yes
Sessions 0
---------------------------------------

Do you have any idea how the problem can be solved? My system configuration is summarized below. Thanks in advance and thanks again for this fantastic application.

Very nice tool. Hopefully I'm not entirely off topic. I would also like to see a KDE/Linux mindmapping (mm) tool. I have never programmed anything for KDE/Linux yet (busy studying, etc.), but would really like to help.

Some time ago, I also considered using Umbrelllo, but my favorite Linux mm tool is Freemind (http://freemind.sourceforge.net) at the moment. There aren't that many alternatives, actually. IMHO, Mindjet's Mindmapper (http://www.mindjet.com), a Windows application, is the most advanced and comfortable mm tool, and could be a nice 'role model' for developing a KDE mm-tool, using Umbrello for instance.

Mindmapper contains the features proposed by elektroshock and:
- can be used with a (Palm-)PDA
- complies with the mm guidelines presented by Tony Buzan (http://www.mind-mapping.co.uk/make-mind-map.htm)
- uses colours and graphics
- a lot more to consider...

Such an app would certainly be a great addition to my current kile/kword-bookcase-configuration for studying and writing reports and articles. - Jan 08 2004

I really like this theme for its simplicity. At first it didn't seem to work. However, I changed "pause" to "play" in line 20 of SmallTunes_xmms.theme, which fixed the problem. - Sep 11 2003
