svn trunk is always the bleeding edge. 0.90.0 is trunk revision 149.

the option definitions are located into /usr/share/gtk-engines/murrine.xml - Mar 16 2009
The focus thing is something complicated to achieve: it should look the same between every widget (for usability having a common focus indicator for all widgets is more usable) and look good with both bright and dark themes.

If you have ideas there's always irc and the website.

Thanks for your compliments! - Mar 16 2009
No it will be fixed, at the moment I don't want to expose such option - Jul 11 2008
I don't know aurora, but neither clearlooks nor ubuntulooks will have RGBA support (I'm the developer and I don't consider clearlooks or ubuntulooks a suitable look for the transparency) - Jul 11 2008
The release date does not depend on Murrine but GTK+. If GTK+ will approve some RGBA patches before 2.24 then the release date could be in september, otherwise March 2009 (maybe) - May 17 2008
Cause I refreshed the description and asked for donations since I need some support to complete the transparent version.

The engine is installed by default in ubuntu 8.04 (the non-transparent) - Apr 28 2008
It is real transparency (not fake as compiz).
I'm not using transpaceny on listviews etc etc for usability, of course. - Apr 28 2008
Will be released in the future with the RGBA capable release...
First I need to get some money to buy a laptop :) that's why the donations - Apr 28 2008

That means those apps don't work with RGBA and they should be fixed/blacklisted.

Checking for the composited screen is not the right approach. - Mar 18 2009
You did this:
if(colormap && gdk_screen_is_composited(screen))

but you should not check if the screen is composited, because you may have a rgba colormap on a screen without a composited window manager currently running. If you start an application and then you run compiz, the application requires restart with your code. - Mar 17 2009

I'm not using neither compiz nor a secondary x session.
It's just like the symbol is not drawn, hovering it will make it reappear again. Could be a bug in the intel driver, the strange thing is that it happens only on *that* button, other symbols never disappeared. - Jan 29 2009
Please see this (about overriding standard icons with kde ones):
http://code.google.com/p/arora/issues/detail?id=256

Another small issue (I don't know if that depends on the graphic intel driver) is that sometimes the close button, just the close button, disappears from the window decoration until I hovered it again. - Jan 28 2009
A lot of compliments from the other side (I'm the developer of the gnome default look), I really like your work, much better than the oxygen style, in my opinion.

I would suggest to reduce the size of the scrollbars (width) of 1-2 px smaller, same thing for the sliders.
For both sliders and scrollbar's sliders I would suggest to darken a little bit the bright edges (left and top), to have a little bit of contrast as buttons.

In addition, the ability of setting radius for the widgets could be a great thing.
Keep up the great work! - May 26 2008

grab the latest svn (which has a better algorithm for the contrast option, that is simpler to read)
try to set contrast = 0.82 for both menubar and toolbar.
Horizontal separators should disappear - Feb 27 2008
And furthermore... You can get the same look just using right Gtkrc options, take a look at the contrast algorithm - Feb 26 2008
Providing a patch doesn't mean that it will be merged in the official code, but that there will be a patch that some users could use to get a clearlooks with that look.

See what lucazade did for the flat look of toolbars.

Regarding this engine I still don't like it (otherwise I would have accepted your ideas and merged into trunk), but other people may like it, and providing a patch will not oblige them to install the 10th clearlooks fork...

To get xl_cheeselook 2 lines of code are required, plus the ones for the notebook. - Feb 25 2008
Do we really need YET ANOTHER FORK?
For few MINOR changes?
Provide a patch instead, but playing with few lines of code, maintaining 99% of the same code of Clearlooks, creating another name and unsupported themes... yeah.
It's pretty useless. - Feb 25 2008

not true, shadings are very similar and mostly unnoticeable.

If a theme looks different in shadings between those two engines maybe something is wrong in the gtkrc. - Oct 29 2007

Or please just add the port.
