There is a little typing mistake in the "wanna send home" window : 'might' is spelled as 'migth'.

I think that the fact I voted "good" is an answer, isn't it ?

Maybe you can make 2 more things :
- provide the Blender source files
- replace the 2 glass things (the green and the yellow) by something, colorful too, but a little bit more complicated : do not use "straight edges", but use something like curves like if it was "eaten" by the gears.

Sorry for my poor description ... I see what I want to tell you but can't describe it easily without drawing it directly ;) - Nov 30 2004

KDE 3.5 Themes by PaT 347 comments

Here is my advice, two cents in favor of a SOURCE TREE merge.

Be warned that I don't want lipstick to disappear into a deep and dark thing

-> I liked very much a plastik modification whose name I can't remember :( which drawn the "combo box arrow left part" in "highlighted" color. The result was VERY impressive. There were some other changes like this one which were very good thoughts.

Even if you don't like it, you should recognize that this really made the plastik theme look professional.

What I would really LOVE to see is that "feature" incorporated into lipstick.

This explains why I see no other way than to merge the two source trees.

For my own, I don't think that a well written patch wouldn't make it into the plastik source tree as the author is really a cool person.

Of course, if this kde-look content is only there to be a "popularity test" before providing the patch to the plastik author, than I can only say it is a very good idea ! And I add, try to add the little patch for the colors : when you will see the result you will love it !

Have a great day ! - Nov 30 2004

Here are somes suggestions to help you to make a better chat window dream ;)

- Add a "use encryption" button for easy toggle between encrypted and normal mode.

- Add a special tab in the side bar for the web links lists. It should list the URL's and e-mail adresses that were entered during the chat. I think of something like the specific panel of Netscape 6 to help better browsing in webpages...

- Add an icon to be able to insert bookmarks simply : it happens often that I want to give to a friend some of my well sorted (uh-uh! :p ) bookmarks to help him/her. - Nov 07 2004

KDE 3.x Splash Screens by peter-s 8 comments

Hi !

I am not a native english speaker, so I can tell with assurance if I am right : there seems to be some mistakes in the preview you show : "peripherials" and "setting system services" instead of "setting up" or "starting" ...

I am not sure which one is good...

Even if the user has set default icon size to small for the toolbars, you can overload his/her defaults by calling to the relevant method of the toolbar.

This is quite easy and straightforward, eventhough I would not recommend you to do this. The best thing is to let the user choose through an option check box (something like : "Force large icons for the toolbars in KIso") This would let the user choose. Don't forget some people are using more than one app at a time and so, when they could reduce the surface of the window on the screen, they are happy :) Just not everybody has a dual monitor configuration ;)

Very cool app, by the way ! But I am still seeking for one that could produce CloneCD-like isos as the Belgian law gives me the right to make a backup copy of my CD's, even the protected ones.

Go on with the improvements ! - Mar 31 2004

Hi !

Ok, this is a KPart, so it will be easy to integrate into Kopete, but what about Konqueror (for the callto:// URL format ?) -> did you create a KIO or not ?

If yes, it should allow to make "bookmarks" which would be direct links to friends, it can be easy to send one's list of friends over the network or to have video recording support. - Mar 04 2004
The Way that KDM should look

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by boskicinek 112 comments

Just a comment about the KDE Style for the buttons.

I agree with the proposed idea above, but I think the compromise should come from there : the style used by KDM should not be taken from the root configuration, but from a specific KDM option. So, designing a style which draws its buttons like the picture shown at the top of this page would give a beautiful aspect as well as a theme support.

For my own, I think that there should be a specific tool to "bundle" KDM theme as for KSplash ones. This way, a company or simply an admin is able to change the style easily and cleanly.

Finally, the position of the text should be configurable (no text, above, left, right, top, transparent and over). - Feb 09 2004

A good application is nothing if it is not used. An application must be appealant or there should be some marketing in place to make it attractive. Screenshots ARE definitely the way on the web ! - Jan 03 2004

I think that it would be good to use the l10n (localization) system of KDE.

Yes, you know. I am talking about that module in KControl which noone never uses ;) - Jan 03 2004

... but what are the advantages over KPlayer ?

When will we see steps for an integration of the two applications ?

Is it able to record a Quicktime movie that comes from the net onto my hard drive ?

Yep it seems good, but we miss some informations ;) - Jan 03 2004

KDE 3.x Window Decorations by moto 4 comments

I was waiting for such a theme for quite a while !

Its still damage that the shadow are not realistic : the light can't come from two side at the same time AND shade an object ! The windows have shadows on the left AND on the right. In the lower left corner and lower right corner, there is som bug...

I think this is a very good work, but it is still too immature to be packaged now. There should be ways to select the diretion where to drop the shadow, in the control panel. By default, it should be casted to the bottom and to the right, as the KDE recommandations state that the light comes ONLY from the upper left corner.

Even if it is some kind of criticism, I just want to say that I really love that theme, and that I wouldn't have posted that comment if I had not been interested ! - May 23 2003
