Why post this here? I take beautiful pictures of my S2000 all the time, but I'm not about to post them here. Find a nice Nissan forum or something. - May 13 2007

Thanks for asking. Ok, I think you said you used Gimp to create it (in one your uploads that you deleted), but I may be wrong. You would begin with the finished image. Save the finished image. Now do CTRL+D, this will open the original image in a new window (prevents you from modifying the original, as it renames it). Then with the new image up, goto image and scale image. For an image preview, you want minimal resolution, but not too tiny. I use either 800x600 or 640x480, hit scale and its resized. Now save the new image with [imagename]-preview.[extension]. As for uploading it, you should see an upload section near bottom of 'add content', screenshot 1, 2, 3. Just browse for your preview and upload it. - May 08 2007

I think you need to adjust the 'style' in 'desktop background preferences'. If you downloaded the right resolution, the reflection should be cut off at the bottom. p.s I will add more content as time allows. I am very busy. I have a lot of content saved on my hard disk, but nothing yet that I feel worthy of uploading. Quality over Quanity! thanks! - May 07 2007

I vote bad. You should learn how to create the preview image. I view download count as yet another type of rating system. Without a preview, everyone must download your image to view it, so your download count goes up but its unfair. Not that this is really a competition. If you need help creating a preview image, I'm sure you can get in the forum. I didn't download your image btw, so please add a preview so I can make that decision. - May 07 2007

Thanks, it does look better that way allows room for icons. I don't use icons on my desktop, but I could see where moving the logo is logo and "Linux for Humans" was appropriate. I've uploaded version 2.0 and fixed a couple other things. Thanks. And thank you everybody for the 'good' ratings! That motivates me to make more. - May 06 2007

I really like this, not sure why so many bad votes. What did you use to create it? Can you release the source please, I'd like a different resolution. - May 03 2007

I enjoy nature backgrounds (since I don't see nature much in real life), so this one is ok. However, I voted bad. You should use a higher resolution Ubuntu Logo if at all, its grainy. - May 03 2007

Not my taste, but I vote 'good' for originality. I am a fan of vector art for it's flexibility as well. You can easy modify something to suite your taste or for practice. I'm just not that into stripes... - Apr 16 2007

I like it, but would prefer alternate color combination. Did you use SVG? If yes, could you release source? - Oct 22 2006

Oops, I though tabs was a special program used to compare images. I do use tabs in konqueror and firefox, I find them quite useful at home and work. - Dec 03 2005

Wallpaper Other by jwar 2 comments

i like this background, but the mepis logo shouldnt be squished in my opinion and i would use a bit more contrast.

i definately recomend mepis to any new user unfamiliar with debian and linux in general. mepis is very fast to install/configure/setup.

Thank you for the comment. I am unfamiliar with The Gimp, if you would, please give me some more information about the different photo processing I can use with that program or tell me where to go to get info. I am not a pro, and have just been using the photo fixing tools included in Digikam. As for the resolution, my primary reason for using such a small photo resolution was to fit more photos on my camera at a time, I have only a 512mb memory card, and didn't have access to my computer at the time. Thanks, Chris. - Jul 07 2005

Good idea, I wasn't sure what kind of reaction I would get from the photo. It was taken at my grandmothers house, I will go over tonight and get some more photos. Thanks. -Chris - Jun 23 2005
