Good detective work on this. In a different Lxde distribution I can reproduce the problem and the solution.

The font size has to be "just right" to make this theme work. Too small, or too big, will cause the buttons to look funny. The correct size can vary from one font to another.

I don't think this is a major problem, just something to be aware of. - Jun 03 2013
I tried deleting the config file but that did not help. I am now running Openbox under Xubuntu 13.04, not Lubuntu.

I found another OB theme that I like, so it's not a major problem. If this theme working for other people then let's not spend more time debugging this. - May 11 2013
I'm running Crunchband Waldorf, and the circular close-mimize-etc. buttons are all cut off. I don't see a full circle.

Here's an image

Maybe the widgets need to be 12 x 12 or 8 x 8 instead of 16 x 16. - May 08 2013

I see some orange in this theme at the bottom of windows on each side. I think there was a keyboard slip on this line: #908880

I made the following change and it fixed the problem: #808080

Other than that, this theme works very well, and is much appreciated. I like Greybird a lot and it's good to be able to run it in Openbox. - Jun 02 2013

I am using and liking this theme in Crunchbang Waldorf myself. Thanks for posting it.

I've always liked Shiki but the dark menus can cause problems in some apps. I did switch the openbox menu back to dark though. :-) - May 08 2013

Charcoal is a lot like Chicago - it is thick. I only use it for Window titles, and I don't specify bold. For everything else, I use a font called Geneva, which Apple used back then. - Nov 12 2012
I am enjoying this theme a lot. I found a Charcoal font online for the window titles, which adds to the old timey look. - Nov 11 2012

One more thing, the check marks in the menus are white, which doesn't show up well against the light gray menus. Black would be better. - Nov 12 2012
I am using Classico in Xubuntu, and it looks great. You have done a great job recreating the Mac look. I suggest using Geneva font with Classico for more authenticity. - Nov 11 2012

I really enjoy this theme. I am using it on xfce and LXDE.

I made a change to the x - + buttons in the xfce version. They are now a muted red, yellow, and green respectively. I kept the Ambience button design, and just changed the hue and lightness of the buttons. I also kept the blacked out buttons on inactive windows. - Aug 03 2012

The new version is working well for me. Thanks for the improvement to Minty

I believe the forked version has been pulled from the Linux Mint forums now that the author knows it is no longer needed.. - Nov 30 2011
I agree. I think he also should have renamed his version. But he just let his enthusiasm get the better of him.

There is a lot of interesting modding of Gnome Shell extensions (and themes) going on in the Gnome 3 section of the Linux Mint forums. - Nov 29 2011
One of the posters on the Linux Mint forum has a version of Minty that works well when the top bar is moved to the bottom. He probably should have renamed his version of Minty, but he didn't.

I don't think you should be too harsh on the poster, he's been very helpful on the forums. - Nov 29 2011
