When I get to the part to use buildset.sh I get "Command not found".
I am in root state in konsole and have unzipped and cd into the package.
What do you suggest ???. A beautiful set and would like to use it.
Thanks in advance. John. (73yrs young) - Jun 30 2008

Your work looks fine.
In the third image I see near the bottom that you used the word choosed.
The word you need here is CHOSE.
Not nit-picking because it is not your native language. I wish I was as capable at speaking more than just English.

Being wallpapers, why should they have to be in some way connected to kde.
It is just your snide way of saying you don't like it and think that you may be able to get it taken down.
You don't like it then don't download it . It is as simple as that. Grow up.

KDE 3.x Splash Screens by dadeisvenm 7 comments
It is not something I would use but I still quite like it.
The fact that I have not posted anything of my own doesn't mean a thing except in the minds of ultra egotists with no manners.
I have never designed or built or flown a Boeng 747 either but does not stop me from liking its looks and features and admiring the skills of those who designed, made and fly these massive machines. Nor does it inhibit me or exclude me from flying in them.
Cheers. John.
PS. The Mr. part is an "Aussie p**s take" which I am fairly certain your critic would not understand. J. - Dec 17 2004

Followed instructions and installed perfectly and effortlessly.
Can totally recommend it.
Oh. And thanks for their and other programmers generousity in making these great programmes freely available to us all. This must never be forgotten or taken for granted.

Having an install problem.
GSTreamer and latest Taglib, and their devel packages as well, are installed.
I am running Mandrake 10.1-OE and all its updates.
The ./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` runs with no problems and no errors and says to proceed to "make".
When I run make I get the following error as shown below:-
then mv -f ".deps/main.Tpo" ".deps/main.Po"; else rm -f ".deps/main.Tpo"; exit 1; fi

Have I got something missing somewhere ???
I hope you can help me and thanks in advance. John (70yrs young) - Dec 05 2004
I have tried the install both vers 1.4 and also 1.5 from both account and from root but get exactly the same error.
I have also just about installed everything pertaining to KDE including devel files and did it by installing a couple extra at a time to see if I could find which one or two make the difference but still no luck.
John. - Nov 13 2004
I have downloaded your new version and exactly followed your install instructions in detail. At the completion of the process I get the following error message as follows :-
checking for mcopidl... /usr/bin/mcopidl
checking for artsc-config... /usr/bin/artsc-config
checking for meinproc... /usr/bin/meinproc
checking for kconfig_compiler... /usr/bin/kconfig_compiler
checking for dcopidlng... /usr/bin/dcopidlng
checking for makekdewidgets... not found
configure: error: The important program makekdewidgets was not found!
Please check whether you installed KDE correctly.
[root@DETHERMY filelight-1.0-beta4]#
I have not been able to find what program provides this "makekdewidgets"
so maybe you can direct me.
What is strange is that upon checking my current install of filelight, I find that it now identifies itself as version 1.0-beta2 and seems to be working but I am not sure.
I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance.

KDE 3.x Splash Screens by andrD 9 comments
For starters it is in zip form instead of the required gz. Second it has no preview.png and although I repackaged the apps with your preview picture from here and made it a gz package, while it appears in the Mandrake Look & Feel SplashScreens
it still does not open or operate and it defaults to the standard splash screen.
Any ideas would be welcome because I especially like the look of your splash screen.

There is no longer a problem for anyone to install your program into Mandrake10 OE.
There is no need to alter lines or move items from one spot to another manually or make any changes at all.
I just right clicked on the tarball and selected "Actions" then "Extract here". I went into ROOT (and did not do a "su" ) and opened konsole and typed cd /"place where the knemo was located" and pressed Enter.
Typed in ./configure --prefix=/usr
The above is CRITICAL.
Then I did "make" then "make install". Closed konsole and went back in to my account and there waiting for me was the Welcome to the Configuration Panel waiting for me. Clicked DEFAULT and the three interfaces eth0, eth1 and sit0 appeared. Deleted the eth1 and sit0, highlighted eth0 and clicked on APPLY then the little Icon appeared on the Taskbar i.e. the panel.
A left click on the icon raised an "Interface Status" panel and which was running nicely.
Checked that knemo was in KDE Control Centre......Components.......Service Manager and there it was in Startup Services and appropiately ticked.
This was all done on a newley installed Mandrake 10 on my second hard drive so was totally clear of anything I had done on my main Mandrake 10
Is it possible to get a larger icon since I am using a 21" Monitor and the Icon looks so tiny on the panel
I happened on the solution only by accident. Just for the hell of it I thought I would use the ./configure --prefix=/usr to see what would happen because I had seen it used by a number of other different packages. It worked.
Thanks for your very good effort in helping me solve the problem. Your advice pointed me into the right line of procedures.
Hope to hear from you about the Icon size.

There is no entry in the KDE Control Centre, Components, Service Manager although the Startup Services such as kmilo etc., are there.
I ran kcmshell kcm_knemo and got the following :-
[john@BIGPOND john]$ su
[root@BIGPOND john]# kcmshell kcm_knemo

As you can see the console has stopped at that point. The Mutex destroy...... it started all by itself, I DID NOT start it. Strange huh ??
I tried the dcop kded kded loadModule knemod and got the following result:-
[root@BIGPOND john]# dcop kded kded loadModule knemod

I perhaps should mention that I am using an Alcatel500 Modem/Router and have connected it via the LAN connection on my ASUS A7N8X-E-Deluxe Mainboard using eth0. I expect that this probably doesn't make any difference.
I hope this info gives you some more insight into the trouble and you can guide me further.
Thanks in advance. JOHN. - Jul 11 2004
Are there some other things that also need to be done to enable a correct install into Mandrake 10 ??? or am I just looking in the wrong places ???
I look forward to hearing from you and thanks. John - Jul 10 2004
I am getting the following error message when trying to install on to Mandrake 10 OE ( I have already carried out your instructions ref special note about Mandrake 10 )
:-checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.2) (library qt-mt) not found. Please check your installation!
I have Qt3.3 installed but cannot find this library qt-mt in anything.
Any help welcome please since I am using ADSL through LAN so have no indications of what is happening when connected (all the time). Your Apps would seem to fit the bill.

I used Mandrake 9.0 9.1 9.2 and now 10.
The Kde Login has ALWAYS been fully configurable as compared with the others you mentioned which in MY opinion are quite ugly. Except for personal reasons I would show you how mine looks (it includes personal images) All my friends who have seen it love it.
Your suggestion looks reasonable except that it looks more like Microsoft than anything else but if that is what you like then thats OK. Personally nowadays I can't stand any thing that even hints of Microsoft. - Mar 21 2004

I wish I had the ability to make such a contribution and the contributer is to be complimented on an effort that has obviously been given a lot of thought and consideration. It is a nice piece of work and I have downloaded it and intend to use it.
