Window Applets

Gnome Extensions by holodeck 376 comments

It would be VERY nice if you could add the ability to hide the window buttons for windows which are on another screen.

I can tell you how many times I have actually closed the wrong window because the focus was on the other screen. - Dec 05 2011

I'm happy you agree in terms of Unity.

My goal is to use neither Unity or Gnome shell. The only thing missing from all other window managers is Windows Applets - really. I'm dependent on it.

If you could find some time, please have a look into this.

thanks a million. - Oct 14 2011

Yeah, but Unity sucks (IMHO anyway). It would be nice to see windows applets working with either awn or dockbarx (esp., in Panel Mode).

Makes more sense than shoe horning it into Unity. - Oct 14 2011

First off, I absolutely love this! Very well done!

The only issue I have right now is that if I set iGoogle as my home page, the the user style crashes the page (on first run of the browser). It could well be a bug of Chromium but I'm not sure.

When I get the page crash error all I have to do is refresh the page and then it loads fine. - Jul 17 2011

Since we are seeing the demise of the 'classic' panel in Gnome and Ubuntu, it would be nice for those of us who have been using Window Applets to have a way to continue using it.

It would be very nice if there were a Window Title AWN plugin (much like dockbarx did). It would be useful with AWN in panel mode.

Could you possibly do this? Please Please Please :))) - May 19 2011

forget my comments regarding WindowApplets. I installed on Maverick using the Lucid build and it does work well.

Now installing on my Lucid box :) - Oct 11 2010
NameBar

Aw man, that sucks :( I really think namebar is great. In combo with maximus and DockbarX it can't be beat for maximizing screenspace while maintaining usability.

I just tried upgrading to 10.10 with namebar and it stopped working.

Window Applets *is not* the same, I don't get the minimize/maximize buttons. :(

Anyone know of another replacement? - Oct 11 2010
